We are currently seeking a Data Engineer to join our team in Halifax, Nova Scotia (CA-NS), Canada (CA).

Job Title: Data Engineer

Location: Halifax, NS (On-site at one of NTT DATA’s flagship data delivery centers)

As a Data Engineer, you play a pivotal role in designing, building, and optimizing scalable data systems that empower organizations to make data-driven decision.  You are responsible for creating robust pipelines, ensuring data quality, and enabling seamless integration of complex data sets to drive innovative solutions and actioanable insights. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Utilize your expertise in Snowflake and Azure data services (Data Factory and Synapse) to build and maintain robust data solutions.  SQL, Python and strong knowledge of the SDLC are required.  Build and manage dozens of data pipelines to source and transform data based on business requirements.
• Apply your knowledge in financial data analysis, risk, and compliance data management to support our financial services customers.
• Leverage AtScale for data analysis and discovery, ensuring data is accessible and actionable.  Leverage 10+ sources of data to derive insights.
• Quickly learn new technologies by applying your current skills, staying ahead of industry trends and advancements.  Self-identify the need for new skills to be developed and adopt new technologies into your skill set in a month’s time.
• Work closely with financial services clients to build modern data solutions that transform how they leverage data for key business decisions, investment portfolio performance analysis, and risk and compliance management.  Manage multiple stakeholder groups and their requirements.
• Collaborate within a Pod of 4+ data engineers, working towards common objectives in a consultative fashion with clients. 
• Use Apache NiFi for data movement, streaming, and transformation services, ensuring efficient and reliable data workflows. 
• Work with a client that is leading the industry in using data to drive business decision optimization and investment management strategies.

Basic Qualifications:

• 4+ years of Data Engineering experience
• 2+ years of experience in working with Snowflake and Azure cloud services.
• 2+ years of experience in Python, Java, Scala, or SQL
• 2+ years of experience with ETL tools

• • Collaboration: Strong team player with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

• • Background Check: Must pass a background check, drug screening, and sign an NDA.

Preferred Skills:

• Proficiency in Snowflake and Azure data services (Data Factory and Synapse).
• Domain Expertise in financial data analysis, risk, and compliance data management.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies by applying current skills.
• Showcase professional written and verbal communication skills to effectively convey complex technical concepts.
• Undergraduate or Graduate degree preferred
