Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer to lead our cloud infrastructure initiatives and drive technical innovation. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic architectural planning and team leadership. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with major cloud platforms, specifically Microsoft Azure, and a proven track record of implementing secure, scalable cloud solutions.

  • Hours of Work: EST Business Hours, 24x7 on-call rotation
  • Location: Remote, Canada
  • Salary: $100,000-$125,000 CAD/Annual

 

 

Skills/Experience:

  • 10+ years of experience in a Systems Engineering role with 5+ in a cloud environment
  • Must hold AZ-305: Designing Microsoft Azure Infrastructure Solutions Certification
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure and Microsoft server technologies
  • Experience with hypervisors and virtualization
  • Experience with enterprise data protection and data lifecycle management
  • Experiencing designing and maintaining a redundant and highly available infrastructure
  • Experience deploying cloud resources using infrastructure as code (Terraform)
  • Understanding of network protocols, switching, and routing
  • Excellent team player but able to work independently
  • Cool under pressure
  • Able to facilitate and resolve conflicts
  • Must have good verbal, written (English) and interpersonal skills
  • Azure certifications

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design and Implementation: Responsible for designing, implementing, and managing cloud infrastructure and services to ensure high availability, reliability, and scalability.
  • Security and Compliance: Develop and enforce cloud security policies and procedures to protect data and applications from unauthorized access and potential security threats
  • Resource Optimization: Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost through effective monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure cloud strategies align with technical and business goals
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex cloud infrastructure issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maintaining service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Continuous Integration: Facilitate continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) practices for application releases and updates.
  • Disaster Recovery: Lead disaster recovery planning and execution, ensuring data integrity and availability in case of emergencies
  • Research and Evaluation: Research and evaluate emerging cloud technologies and services to identify opportunities for innovation and improvement within the cloud infrastructure.
