We are currently seeking a Application Support Manager to join our team in Harahan, Louisiana (US-LA), United States (US).

The Application Support Manager shall provide direct supervision to a large team of operational, production, service or administrative team members, or a small staff of professional-level team members. Guide work based on operational and project objectives. Set and communicate clear expectations for work outcomes and manage performance. In addition, the Application Support Manager shall perform the following tasks:

  • Work with the existing Unix/Linux support team to monitor system and application logs for anomalies and resolve challenging issues.
  • Perform patch installation and vulnerability mitigation.
  • Respond to system alerts with minimum guidance.
  • Contribute to creating and updating documentation of procedures and guidelines for internal team use.
  • Respond to alerts and emergency calls during and outside of normal business hours.
  • Respond to client incidents and requests using the corporate ticketing system.
  • Strong ability to communicate complex technical information to all stakeholders, including those who do not have a technical background.

 

 

Required Skills

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or other Engineering or Technical discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Highly specialized in one or more phases of software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering. Formulates / defines specifications, develops / modifies / maintains complex systems and subsystems, using vendor engineering releases and utilities for overall operational systems.
  • Develops complete specifications to enable computer programmers to prepare required programs.
  • Coordinates work with programmers and engineers, and orients users to new systems. Software systems development, systems integration, or network engineering.
  • 1-3 years managerial/ leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 6 years of applications server management experience.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with Unix systems, familiarity with Windows-based operating systems.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with automated code deployment and automation tools, java application server administration (Tomcat and similar) and scripting experience (Shell, Perl, Python or similar)

 

Desired Skills

 

  • Supporting Java based Web Applications.
  • Supporting Document Management Systems.
  • Working knowledge with DevOPS tools (i.e. Ansible, Jenkins, Docker, etc.)
  • Experience with application performance monitoring tools
  • Strong working knowledge of networking principles
  • Security+
  • Networking+ or CCNA
