NTT DATA’s Supply Chain Consulting practice is currently looking for a Supply Chain Process Architect to join our growing team in Finland. The role can be performed primarily remotely, combined with client visits according to project needs.
How You will help us
As a Supply Chain Process Architect within our Supply Chain Planning practice, you will help clients design, improve, and transform the business processes they use to plan and manage their supply chains.
You will work at the intersection of business strategy, supply chain planning processes, organizational ways of working, data, and enabling technology. Your primary responsibility is to understand how our clients operate, identify what needs to change, and translate business requirements into clear target processes, decision frameworks, business rules, and detailed functional requirements.
You will act as the bridge between business stakeholders and the teams responsible for implementing the enabling technology. Rather than focusing on configuration of individual planning platforms, you will ensure that the underlying business process architecture and requirements are fit for purpose, coherent, and implementable.
Your work may span areas such as:
- Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) and Integrated Business Planning (IBP)
- Sales & Operations Execution (S&OE)
- Demand Planning and Demand Forecasting
- Supply and Production Planning
- Inventory Planning and Optimization
- Capacity and Constraint Planning
- Scenario Planning and Decision Support
- Exception Management
- Cross-functional planning governance and decision-making
- Performance management, KPIs, and planning effectiveness
You will also help clients understand how emerging capabilities such as Agentic AI, Generative AI and advanced analytics can be embedded into modern supply chain planning processes to improve productivity, decision quality, responsiveness, and automation.
How we will help You
Joining NTT DATA is not only a job, but an opportunity to grow your career.
You will become part of our international Supply Chain Consulting practice and work alongside experienced supply chain professionals, process experts, data scientists, AI specialists, and technology consultants.
We will support you in developing your capabilities across supply chain transformation, process architecture, consulting, analytics, AI, and modern planning technologies while giving you opportunities to work on challenging transformation initiatives with leading organizations.
Why the role is important
Successful supply chain transformation is not primarily a technology challenge. It starts with understanding how the business should plan, make decisions, collaborate, and respond to change.
Our clients increasingly need to redesign their planning processes to operate in an environment characterized by volatility, greater data availability, increasingly sophisticated analytics, and rapid advances in AI.
As a Supply Chain Process Architect, you will help define this future operating model.
You will translate strategic objectives and business challenges into a practical supply chain planning architecture: defining the processes, decisions, roles, information flows, planning horizons, planning frequencies, business rules, KPIs, and capabilities required to operate effectively.
These process designs and requirements then provide the blueprint that solution architects, data specialists, developers, and planning-technology implementation teams use to create the supporting technical solutions.
Once You are here, You will
- Lead and contribute to supply chain planning process transformation engagements across S&OP/IBP, S&OE, demand planning, forecasting, supply planning, inventory planning, and related areas.
- Engage with senior business stakeholders, planners, operational teams, and subject matter experts to understand business objectives, pain points, constraints, decision-making practices, and future requirements.
- Conduct current-state assessments of supply chain planning processes, organizational capabilities, governance, data usage, and supporting technologies.
- Design target-state business process architectures, including end-to-end planning processes, subprocesses, decision points, roles and responsibilities, planning cadences, information flows, hand-offs, and governance.
- Translate high-level business needs into detailed and structured process and functional requirements that can be used by technology architects, developers, data teams, and implementation partners.
- Facilitate workshops and working sessions to align stakeholders around business requirements, target processes, design principles, and key planning decisions.
- Define planning concepts such as planning horizons, time buckets, planning levels, segmentation approaches, exception management principles, scenarios, business rules, and KPIs.
- Help clients determine how demand forecasting, advanced analytics, machine learning, optimization, and other analytical techniques should support their planning processes and business decisions.
- Identify opportunities to use Agentic AI and Generative AI within supply chain planning, including areas such as automated planning workflows, intelligent exception management, scenario generation, root-cause analysis, planner assistance, decision support, and automated preparation or orchestration of planning activities.
- Help design appropriate human-and-AI operating models, determining which activities should be automated, AI-assisted, or remain human-led, while considering transparency, governance, control, and business accountability.
- Work closely with technical solution architects and implementation teams to ensure that technology solutions correctly reflect the agreed business processes and requirements.
- Maintain the business intent throughout implementation by reviewing functional designs, prototypes, and delivered capabilities against agreed process requirements.
- Help clients establish effective planning governance, organizational roles, decision rights, meeting structures, and performance management practices.
- Support business case development and value identification for supply chain planning transformation initiatives.
- Contribute to change management and adoption by helping clients translate new planning concepts into practical ways of working.
- Manage client relationships and collaborate effectively with joint teams consisting of client stakeholders, NTT DATA consultants, technology specialists, contractors, and implementation partners.
- Engage and communicate confidently with stakeholders at all organizational levels, from operational planners to senior executives.
- Support sales and business development activities related to NTT DATA’s Supply Chain Planning and Integrated Business Planning offerings.
- Contribute to the development of NTT DATA methodologies, accelerators, thought leadership, and new service offerings relating to supply chain transformation, planning, analytics, and AI
Required qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, Business, Economics, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- Significant practical understanding of supply chain planning processes and the business decisions they support.
- Experience in several of the following areas:
-
- S&OP / Integrated Business Planning
- S&OE
- Demand Planning
- Demand Forecasting
- Supply Planning
- Production Planning
- Inventory Planning
- Capacity Planning
- Scenario Planning
- Experience gathering and structuring business requirements and translating them into business processes, process designs, functional requirements, and future-state ways of working.
- Ability to understand complex business challenges and decompose them into logical processes, decisions, requirements, and capabilities.
- Strong facilitation and communication skills, including experience working directly with business stakeholders and leading workshops.
- Ability to communicate effectively between business and technical audiences and act as a bridge between supply chain users and technology implementation teams.
- Strong analytical and structured problem-solving capabilities.
- Professional proficiency in commonly used business communication and analysis tools such as PowerPoint and Excel.
- Willingness and ability to travel according to project and client requirements
Preferred skills and Experience
- Several years of experience in supply chain consulting, supply chain transformation, or senior supply chain planning roles.
- Experience designing or transforming end-to-end S&OP, IBP, S&OE, demand planning, or supply planning processes.
- Experience working on large-scale supply chain or business transformation initiatives.
- Strong understanding of modern forecasting approaches, ranging from traditional statistical forecasting through machine learning and AI-supported forecasting.
- Understanding of supply chain planning concepts such as segmentation, forecast value added, service levels, safety stock, capacity constraints, allocation, prioritization, scenario planning, and exception-based planning.
- Experience defining planning operating models, governance structures, decision rights, roles, responsibilities, and KPIs.
- Understanding of how Agentic AI, Generative AI, machine learning, optimization, and advanced analytics can be applied within supply chain planning and decision-making.
- Ability to identify realistic AI use cases and redesign business processes to take advantage of AI rather than simply applying AI to existing ways of working.
- Familiarity with modern Advanced Planning Systems and planning platforms such as o9, Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Anaplan, Blue Yonder, Logility, ToolsGroup, or similar solutions.
- Technology-specific certification or implementation experience is considered useful, but deep expertise in a particular planning platform is not a requirement for this role.
- Master’s degree or MBA is considered an advantage.
- Professional supply chain certifications from organizations such as ASCM, IBF, CSCMP, or equivalent are considered an advantage.
What success looks like in this role
A successful Supply Chain Process Architect is able to enter a complex client environment, quickly understand how the business operates, and distinguish between symptoms, stated requirements, and the underlying business need.
You are comfortable asking questions such as:
- What decisions need to be made?
- Who needs to make them?
- At what level and frequency?
- What information is required?
- What should trigger an exception?
- What can be automated?
- Where is human judgment valuable?
- How should AI support the planner?
You then turn those answers into a structured and practical blueprint for how the future planning organization should operate.
The result of your work is not simply a process diagram. It is a sufficiently detailed and coherent business process architecture and set of requirements from which an effective technical solution can be designed and implemented.
Benefits
Our people are the most critical component of our long-term success and their health and wellbeing are our priority. You will enjoy a comprehensive, locally competitive benefits package.
