We are currently seeking a Automation Tester QA to join our team in Heredia, Heredia (CR-H), Costa Rica (CR).

Position overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Quality Assurance (QA) Automation Tester to join our Agile development team. The QA Automation Tester will be responsible for designing, developing, and executing automated tests to validate software quality, performance, and scalability. This role combines technical expertise in automation frameworks and scripting with a solid understanding of QA methodologies and agile practices. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, collaborative, and passionate about delivering high-quality software solutions.

Position's General Duties and Tasks:

• Design, develop, and maintain automated test scripts for functional, regression, and performance testing.
• Execute test automation suites and analyze results to identify defects and performance issues.
• Collaborate with developers, business analysts, and product owners to clarify requirements and ensure test coverage.
• Create and maintain test documentation including test plans, test cases, and execution reports.
• Perform API testing using automation frameworks and tools.
• Integrate test automation into CI/CD pipelines for continuous quality validation.
• Monitor and track defects using test management tools such as Azure DevOps (ADO).
• Ensure adherence to software testing best practices and standards.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint deliverables.
• Provide input on improving test strategies, automation frameworks, and QA processes.

Qualifications

Must have Skills:

• Proficiency in automation tools such as Selenium or JMeter (5+ years).
• Strong scripting skills in Java, Python, or JavaScript (5+ years).
• Experience with test management tools such as Azure DevOps (3+ years).
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) and version control systems such as Git (2–3 years).

Nice to have:

• Hands-on experience with API testing frameworks (Postman, REST Assured).
• Knowledge of cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
• Experience with performance/load testing and monitoring.
• Exposure to security testing tools and best practices.
• ISTQB or equivalent testing certification.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.
• QA certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester or Certified Agile Tester preferred.
