This role requires deep technical expertise, strong security/compliance knowledge (FedRAMP High, CMMC Level 2), and the ability to lead technical teams while remaining hands-on. You will architect, implement, and operationalize secure, scalable solutions across both platforms, ensuring audit readiness and long-term operational excellence.

We are seeking a hands-on Senior Cloud Architect to lead two critical initiatives in U.S. Government Cloud environments:

  • Microsoft 365 GCC High deployment—including Teams rollout by April 2026, foundational SharePoint Online setup, and data migration.
  • AWS GovCloud (US) migration and operations—including landing zone design, migration of up to 126 VMs (scaling to 700), and transition to a managed services model.

Job Duties:

  • Architect and deploy Microsoft 365 GCC High tenant, configure Teams for secure collaboration, and deliver April 2026 go-live; design SharePoint Online information architecture and migration plan (~600 GB)
  • Lead AWS GovCloud landing zone design (Organizations/Control Tower, IAM, KMS, VPC), and orchestrate structured VM migration waves (assessment, cutover, validation).
  • Implement and enforce security baselines aligned to FedRAMP High and CMMC Level 2; document control mappings and compliance artifacts for audit readiness.
  • Drive automation using PowerShell, Terraform/CloudFormation, and CI/CD pipelines for both M365 and AWS environments.
  • Configure and operationalize AWS services for patching, backups/DR, monitoring, vulnerability management, and cost optimization.
  • Produce architecture diagrams, operational runbooks, incident response plans, and SOPs for both cloud environments.
  • Coordinate validation/UAT, pilot rollouts, and corrective actions; manage risk, dependencies, and change control through PMO processes.
  • Build and mentor a technical managed services team for long-term AWS operations; enforce best practices and reliability improvements.
  • Operate within remote CONUS-only constraints; ensure U.S.-only data residency and government cloud boundary protections.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in enterprise IT, including infrastructure, identity, and cloud platforms.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in AWS within AWS GovCloud (US) environments.
  • Minimum 2 years experience with large-scale AWS migration projects (≥50 VMs or ≥200 cores) using structured wave/cutover methods.
  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (or higher)
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate or Microsoft 365 Enterprise Administrator Expert
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 5 years experience delivering Microsoft 365/Azure projects in regulated environments;
  • Minimum 3 years experience with GCC High tenant operations.
  • Hands-on experience implementing FedRAMP High and CMMC Level 2 controls; familiarity with NIST 800-171/800-53 frameworks.
  • Strong scripting skills in PowerShell and Python; experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation).
  • Proven experience with Teams configuration (policies, meetings, secure file exchange) and SharePoint Online migrations (≥500 GB).
  • Experience delivering audit-critical rollouts with SSP/POA&M artifacts and ATO processes.
  • Familiarity with Citrix/VDI environments and Azure Virtual Desktop.
  • Additional certifications: AWS Solutions Architect – Professional, AWS Security Specialty, Microsoft Security Administrator, CISSP, ITIL, PMP.
  • Background in U.S. Federal programs or highly regulated industries; familiarity with zero trust architectures.
