We are currently seeking a Vice President, Federal Client Growth to join our team in Herndon, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).
Job Summary:
NTT DATA Federal is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Vice President to lead and oversee our key growth functions including the solutions architect team, proposal center, capture management, and Government Wide Acquisition Contract (GWAC) strategy. This executive role is critical to driving the growth and success of NTT DATA’s Federal business by ensuring the delivery of innovative solutions, high-quality proposals, and strategic capture efforts.
The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of leadership in solutions Federal contracting, a deep understanding of the Federal acquisition lifecycle, and the ability to inspire and manage high-performing teams. The candidate will be responsible for driving comprehensive win strategies across a matrixed team that leverages internal capabilities as well as NTT DATA’s industry-leading partner ecosystem.
Job Responsibilities Include
1. Solutions Architecture Leadership:
• Foster a team of talented solution architects that can both interact directly with current and prospective clients and also articulate detailed proposed solutions in compliant and competitive proposals.
• Lead a team of Solutions Architects to develop innovative, customer-centric solutions that address Federal agency challenges.
• Ensure alignment of technical solutions with NTT DATA’s strategic goals and capabilities. Primary solution areas include Data & AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, End User Computing and Data Center solutions.
• Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in the Federal market to drive innovation in solution development.
• Foster collaboration between technical teams, business units, and partners to deliver integrated solutions.
• Ensure that the “best of” approach is leveraged including internal capabilities as well as capabilities of our full partner ecosystem.
2. Proposal Center Oversight:
• Lead the Proposal Center team, ensuring the development of compliant, compelling, and high-quality proposals that align with NTT DATA’s Federal growth strategy.
• Implement best practices, tools, and processes to improve proposal efficiency and win rates.
• As a part of an overall pursuit campaign, ensure the Proposal Center’s efforts are aligned with respect to proposal schedules, resources, and deliverables to meet deadlines and exceed client expectations.
• Assist the proposal team as they collaborate with sales, capture, and technical teams to ensure proposals are tailored to customer needs and requirements.
• Identify and coach talented team members to maintain a team that can properly address the expected proposal workload.
3. Capture Management Excellence:
• Provide strategic direction and oversight for capture management efforts, ensuring the successful pursuit of high-value opportunities.
• Develop and execute capture strategies, including competitive analysis, teaming, and pricing strategies.
• Mentor and guide capture managers to improve win rates and ensure alignment with Federal business objectives.
• Provide leadership for capture managers as they meet with customers and stakeholders to build relationships and gather intelligence for upcoming opportunities.
4. GWAC Strategy and Management:
• Support the team as they manage NTT DATA’s participation in key GWACs, including but not limited to GSA MAS, Alliant, SEWP, and CIO-SP.
• Ensure compliance with GWAC requirements and maximize task order awards through effective marketing and proposal efforts.
• Support the team as they build and maintain relationships with GWAC program offices and Federal customers to position NTT DATA as a preferred contractor.
• Monitor GWAC trends and updates to identify new opportunities and ensure alignment with Federal acquisition strategies.
5. Leadership and Collaboration:
• Build, mentor, and lead high-performing teams across the Proposal Center, Solutions Architecture, Capture Management, and GWAC functions.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and accountability with adjacent teams including sales, delivery, program management and executive leadership.
• Partner with other Federal business leaders to align strategies and drive growth.
• Represent NTT DATA Federal at industry events, conferences, customer engagements, and internal corporate events.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 15 years’ experience in enterprise architecture or solution architecture and IT services for Federal government customers.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience coordinating and coaching with direct sales / go to market teams that interact directly with end clients throughout the sales lifecycle in a matrixed environment.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience managing proposal development and capture teams on government deal pursuits, with a record of winning awards for large ($100 million+) government contracts.
• Understanding of the end-to-end Federal acquisition lifecycle; from initial sales conversation to contract close
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Skills:
• Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field
• 15+ years of experience in the IT industry with at least 10 years supporting Federal contracting initiatives, including a strong understanding leadership roles in proposal development, solutions architecture, capture management, and GWACs.
• Experience with solution portfolio’s similar to NTT DATA Federal’s including Data & AI, Cloud, Cybersecurity, End User Computing and Data Center solutions.
• Understanding of the end-to-end Federal acquisition lifecycle; from initial sales conversation to contract close
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
