We are currently seeking a Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to join our team in Bangalore, Karnātaka (IN-KA), India (IN).

Role Overview
We are looking for a proactive Storage & Data Protection Support Engineer to provide first-level support for enterprise storage, backup, and SAN environments. The role involves handling incidents, performing restore operations, monitoring infrastructure, and ensuring smooth day-to-day operations of critical systems.

Key Responsibilities
1. Backup & Data Protection Operations
•    Perform backup and recovery activities: 
o    File-level restore, VM restore, BMR (Bare Metal Recovery)
o    NBMR restore and configuration (NetBackup)
•    Troubleshoot and resolve backup failures and incidents
•    Configure backup components: 
o    File-level (FL) backup
o    NBMR (NetBackup Bare Metal Restore)
o    Acronis backup solutions

2. Data Domain Monitoring & Support
•    Monitor and respond to Data Domain alerts: 
o    Connectivity issues
o    Temperature alerts
o    Hardware failures
•    Escalate critical issues and coordinate with vendors

3. Storage & SAN Operations
•    Perform basic configuration and support for storage arrays: 
o    Dell EMC XtremIO (XIO), PowerMax, Unity, PowerStore
o    VPLEX (Local & Metro)
o    Pure Storage, IBM storage systems
•    Execute storage provisioning and LUN-related tasks

4. SAN Administration
•    Perform SAN zoning and configuration on: 
o    Brocade switches (SANnav)
•    Troubleshoot SAN connectivity issues

5. NAS & Replication
•    Configure and support NAS environments: 
o    Unity, Isilon (SMB/NFS protocols)
•    Assist in replication setup and failover activities

6. OS & Virtualization Support
•    Configure storage mounts and connectivity on: 
o    Windows and Linux servers
o    VMware ESXi environments
•    Support VMware operations: 
o    Datastore provisioning and expansion
o    VM storage vMotion

7. Monitoring & Incident Management
•    Monitor infrastructure performance using tools like Grafana
•    Track performance of: 
o    Storage arrays (XIO, PowerMax, PowerStore, Unity, VPLEX)
o    SAN ports (Brocade)
o    NAS (Isilon)
o    OS (Linux/Windows)
•    Perform: 
o    Log collection and analysis (SAN/Array)
o    Initial issue diagnosis and escalation

8. Vendor Coordination & Support
•    Create and manage support tickets with: 
o    Dell EMC, Pure Storage, IBM
•    Coordinate for: 
o    Hardware replacements
o    Issue resolution and escalation

Required Skills & Experience
Mandatory Skills
•    5–8 years of experience in Storage & Backup Support
•    Hands-on experience with: 
o    NetBackup / Backup & Recovery operations
o    Brocade SAN (zoning, SANnav)
o    Dell EMC storage (XIO, PowerMax, Unity) – basic level
•    Good understanding of: 
o    Linux & Windows environments
o    VMware (datastore & storage integration)

Preferred Skills
•    Exposure to: 
o    Data Domain
o    VPLEX, Pure Storage, IBM storage
o    Acronis backup
•    Familiarity with: 
o    NAS (Isilon, Unity)
o    Monitoring tools (Grafana)
•    Basic scripting knowledge (Shell/Python) is a plus
