We are currently seeking a CCIE Certified System Engineer to join our team in Indianapolis (REMOTE), Indiana (US-IN), United States (US).

 

NTT DATA Services Federal Government is seeking a highly capable CCIE Certified System Engineer for our team that will support the North American segment of the Rolls-Royce network. As a Senior CCIE Systems Engineer at NTT DATA, a trusted global IT services leader, you will:

  • Drive mission-critical network operations for Rolls-Royce, a global powerhouse in aerospace and defense, that deliver cutting-edge propulsion and power technologies for U.S. military aircraft, naval vessels, and defense systems.
  • Spearhead the U.S. segment’s Network Operations Center (NOC), designing and optimizing IT infrastructure with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer virtual appliances to deliver secure, compliant, and high-performance network services.
  • Proactively manage network infrastructure, ensuring U.S. data sovereignty, providing advanced troubleshooting, and aligning with ITIL standards to deliver world-class, globally consistent services tailored to stringent U.S. security and citizenship requirements.
  • Designs secure network solutions that maximize the sharing of applications, information, and resources across the company.
    Designs secure global networks and establishes standards based on business objectives.
  • Defines network business requirements and implements effective global network strategies.
  • Establishes network standards.
  • Analyzes and resolves complex network related problems, up to and including Level 3.
  • Analyzes and tests all elements of the network infrastructure.

 

Key responsibilities include:

  • Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure for the U.S. segment using FortiManager as a virtual appliance for centralized management and orchestration of U.S.-based devices.
  • Configure and maintain FortiAnalyzer for U.S.-specific network analytics, logging, and reporting to ensure compliance with U.S. security standards and operational visibility.
  • Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for network incidents, troubleshooting complex issues across Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls in a high-availability environment.
  • Ensure physical and logical separation of U.S. network segments from global infrastructure, maintaining strict data sovereignty and security requirements.
  • Collaborate with the Rolls-Royce IT team and NTT DATA colleagues to deliver proactive monitoring, capacity planning, and performance tuning of network infrastructure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including topology diagrams, configuration templates, and operational procedures.
  • Participate in ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, change, and service management to ensure consistent and high-quality service delivery.
  • Conduct regular security audits, vulnerability assessments, and remediation to align with U.S. defense compliance standards.
  • Mentor junior engineers, providing technical guidance on network design and operational best practices.
  • Stay current with industry trends, Fortinet technologies, and Cisco advancements to recommend continuous improvements to the NOC.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Ability to obtain an interim Secret clearance or higher prior to start.

  • Undergraduate/bachelors degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in enterprise network engineering.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience with Cisco-based environments.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing network security solutions, including firewalls and network orchestration platforms (e.g., FortiManager).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in ITIL-aligned network operations or managed service environments.

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Cisco CCIE certification (Routing & Switching or Enterprise Infrastructure).
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation for NOC support.
  • Hands-on experience with FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer deployment and management in virtualized environments.
  • Experience supporting U.S. defense or government networks with stringent compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, DFARS).
  • Proficiency in network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python) for configuration management and orchestration.
  • Familiarity with SD-WAN technologies and multi-cloud network integration.
  • Previous experience in a Network Operations Center (NOC) supporting 24/7 operations.
  • Additional certifications such as Fortinet NSE 7, CISSP, or ITIL v4 Foundation.

 

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is [$95,918 - $222,031]. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
