Position Summary

NTT DATA is seeking a Head of Engineering to provide senior technical leadership. Working in partnership with the broader technology ecosystem, this leader will be accountable for the engineering strategy, architecture, technical governance, integration, and readiness of NTT DATA’s communications infrastructure across the full program lifecycle - from design through testing, operational readiness, critical-period operations, and decommissioning.

The Head of Engineering will lead a multi-environment spanning WAN, venue LAN and cabling, fiber infrastructure, network equipment, fixed telecommunications, service-management integration, resilience, and supporting technology facilities. This role will ensure that individual engineering workstreams come together as a cohesive, scalable, secure, and highly available solution. The position requires close coordination with NTT DATA delivery teams, the Technology Service Integrator, Cisco, the Cyber Security Services Provider, and other strategic technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

· Serve as the senior technical authority for NTT DATA’s telecommunications scope and provide overall engineering direction across the program.

·        Establish and maintain engineering architecture, technical standards, design principles, and governance across all networking and communications services.

·        Lead engineering across WAN, LAN, fiber and cabling infrastructure, network equipment, fixed telecommunications, and related supporting infrastructure.

·        Translate program requirements into executable high-level and low-level designs, technical roadmaps, deployment standards, and implementation plans.

·        Direct engineering planning and execution supporting operations centers, driving consistency and standardization across the environment.

·        Lead technical integration between NTT DATA solutions and those delivered by the Technology Service Integrator, Cisco, and other technology partners.

·        Own the technical engineering lifecycle from architecture and design through implementation, configuration, validation, acceptance, and operational handoff.

·        Lead engineering participation in equipment, interface, user acceptance, operational readiness, and site acceptance testing, as well as Test Events and Technology Rehearsals.

·        Ensure architecture and engineering decisions meet required levels of resilience, availability, performance, scalability, service continuity, and disaster recovery.

·        Ensure the NTT DATA solution is engineered to required security standards and integrates appropriately with the designated Cyber Security Services Provider.

·        Partner with operations and service-management leadership to ensure the engineered solution can be monitored, managed, supported, and restored during normal and critical operational periods.

·        Identify technical risks, dependencies, and design conflicts early and drive resolution across engineering teams and partner organizations.

·        Provide technical leadership to architects, engineering managers, network engineers, telecommunications specialists, and delivery teams supporting the program.

· Represent NTT DATA in senior technical discussions with the Integrator and strategic technology partners, and capture reusable engineering standards and lessons learned for future programs.

Required Qualifications

·        15+ years of experience in network, telecommunications, or infrastructure engineering, including significant leadership responsibility for complex programs.

·        Experience architecting and delivering large-scale, highly available IP networking environments.

·        Experience leading large, distributed engineering teams and managing technical dependencies across multiple technology partners.

·        Experience in network architecture, fiber infrastructure, telecommunications, resilience engineering, and operational readiness.

·        Experience delivering infrastructure across numerous physical sites, facilities, or venues and taking architecture through implementation and operational readiness.

·        Experience operating in mission-critical environments with demanding availability, performance, recovery, and public-visibility requirements.

Preferred Qualifications

·        Strong understanding of infrastructure testing, acceptance, service continuity, disaster recovery, and operational handoff.

·        Proven ability to identify and resolve architectural and engineering risks before they become delivery or operational issues.

·        Proven ability to influence executive stakeholders and communicate complex technical issues and recommendations in customer-facing environments.

·        Experience delivering infrastructure across stadiums, arenas, convention centers, transportation environments, campuses, or other complex venue environments.

·        Experience with network operations centers, technical operations centers, command-center environments, or integrated service-management models.

·        Experience with large-scale telecommunications carriers and network equipment providers, including Cisco technologies.

·        Experience operating within multi-partner ecosystems involving carriers, systems integrators, infrastructure providers, cloud providers, and specialized technology partners.

Success Measures

· Delivery of an integrated, resilient, secure, and operationally supportable NTT DATA telecommunications solution.

·        Achievement of engineering, design, deployment, testing, and readiness milestones across the venue environment.

·        Consistent technical standards and architectures across venues, points of presence, and supporting technology facilities.

·        Successful integration of NTT DATA infrastructure with the broader technology ecosystem.

·        Effective identification and mitigation of technical risks and cross-partner dependencies.

·        Successful completion of acceptance testing, Test Events, Technology Rehearsals, and operational readiness activities, followed by stable critical-period performance.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $182, 655 - $304, 425.  Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation.
