We are currently seeking a Data Governance Specialist to join our team in Maumee, OHThis role will work remotely during the Covid-19 pandemic, but will be expected to report onsite at our client’s location in Maumee, Ohio once we resume working in office again.

 

This role will work with our Health Plan client to define and implement data standards and governance processes.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Develops an organization’s Enterprise Data Governance Strategy
  • Creates an implementation roadmap by factoring in short and long-term priorities
  • Creates internal communications which provide context and updates for the enterprise data governance strategy
  • Able to foster relationships with key senior level stakeholders across the business segments, both business and IT
  • Leads working sessions to understand the data naming requirements
  • Works with sponsors and SMEs to develop and document data naming standards
  • Understands metadata and data lineage management techniques
  • Works with SMEs and data team to ensure that data naming standards are adhered to
  • Establishes escalation and communication procedures
  • Work closely with IT, business application and data governance teams to build an enterprise data model and governance framework
  • Able to evaluate tactical workarounds to data issues to meet critical business needs while also identifying initiatives to solve the core data issue
  • Build organization understanding of data lifecycles from creation to end use, working with subject matter experts in various business functions, operations, and IT teams
  • Identify business processes impacting data quality and collaborate with teams to improve data quality
  • Develop data quality metrics measuring status & progress towards meeting business needs
  • Seek out industry best practices and incorporate relevant ideas
  • Thinks and acts tactically and strategically

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in Data Governance
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with Data Analysis / Microsoft SQL Server
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience with Application Management / Development of PL/SQL

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Prior experience working in Health Plan / Payer industry
