We are currently seeking a Sr. SOC Engineer to join our team in McLean, Virginia (US-VA), United States (US).

The key responsibilities for this position include:

  • Responsible for overarching mitigation of events and helping to keep cloud secured by developing a proactive approach. 
  • Works closely with SOC Tier 1Provide Kanban-based Tier 2 proactive monitoring and alerting to reduce security vulnerabilities and minimize attack vectors of security boundaries
  • Perform cyber hunt activities to identify and mitigate hard-to-find security vulnerabilities
  • Provide feature enhancement requests to Product Engineering Teams related to monitoring and alerting products
  • Perform security audits, risk analysis, application-level vulnerability testing, and security code reviews
  • Develop and implement technical solutions to help mitigate security vulnerabilities
  • Use a site reliability engineering (SRE) approach to security operations to maintain system security and availability
  • Demonstrate experience serving as the SOC engineer of complex technology implementations in a product-centric environment
  • Able to bridge the gap between legacy development or operations teams and working toward a shared culture and vision
  • Works tirelessly to ensure help developers create secure systems while enhancing the privacy of all system users

Minimum Experience:

  • 6 years’ work experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, or similar field
  • Demonstrated experience as a SOC engineer
  • Current or prior work experience at the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and in particularly the Office of Information Technology / Infrastructure and User Services Group (OIT / IUSG)

Required Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years experience implementing and using Kanban, SAFe, Agile software development practices.
  • Minimum 5 years experience with DevSecOps.
  • Minimum 2 years experience developing maintenance scripts using Python.

In compliance with the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Rules, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. The starting pay range for a candidate selected for this position who works in Colorado is $93,000 - $130, 200. The successful candidate's actual pay will be based on a number of factors, including work location, relevant experience (internal or external), technical skills, and other qualifications. The candidate may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on personal and/or company performance. This position is eligible for company benefits including but not limited to medical, dental, and vision coverage with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life  and AD&D, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and many other additional voluntary benefits.
