We are currently seeking a Senior Scrum Master to join our team in Mexico City, México (MX-MEX), Mexico (MX).

Responsibilities

  • Perform as a Scrum Master as needed for one or more scrum teams
  • Lead/Participate in quarterly Program Increment planning sessions
  • Facilitate road mapping, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and demos
  • Assist the product owner with backlog refinement
  • Support the triage and resolution of critical issues
  • Ensure cross-team coordination
  • Provide relevant metrics to gauge team progress with a continual focus on improvement
  • Facilitate retrospectives that serve positive change
  • Participate/facilitate scrum of scrums - Collaborate with other scrum masters in an engagement to ensure clear communication and cooperation for PI planning, dependency management & expectations with up and downstream teams.
  • Participate in the general Nexient scrum master community to define, reinforce and maintain a consistent practice across the organization
  • Prepare and deliver effective communications (both oral and written) regarding progress and status for both internal and client teams
  • Effectively and efficiently track, mitigate/resolve issues, risks and blockers
  • Perform hands-on work, including analysis, design, testing, change management, as needed by the team
  • Strengthen the presence of our team as an Agile center of excellence

Required Skills & Experience

Agile

  • 6-9 years of experience as a Scrum Master
  • Agile practitioner mindset and leader in Agile practices, service-oriented environments, and iterative development practices
  • Act as a change agent where necessary

Delivery

  • Demonstrated track record of successful large and complex projects or engagements
  • Owns the outputs and timeline for the team
  • Ensures all dependencies are clearly communicated and tracked
  • Ability to help teams write user stories/features, identify dependencies, testing, and design optimal solutions
  • Ability to act as product owner on a temporary basis if necessary
  • Comfortable working with trains, functional delivery teams, technical enablement teams, “IT” infrastructure and cyber teams

People

  • Ability to establish immediate credibility with business stakeholders, build consensus, and achieve goals through influence
  • Build effective working relationships with people very different from yourself
  • Quickly seen as someone who has others’ backs
  • Comfortable working with a team, the individuals within the team, and train and/or management stakeholders
  • Comfortable working with a wide variety of work, products, and people
  • Excellent interpersonal/communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to meet clients where they are in terms of Agile transformation and coach them accordingly
  • Strong leadership experience managing cross functional teams

Hard Skills

  • Expert using Agile project & program management tools (Jira, Jira Align, Azure Dev Ops (TFS) , VersionOne, Rally, etc.)
  • Minimum 6 years of experience in full software development life cycle
  • CSM, SSM certification or equivalent
  • Ability to work different time zones
  • Up to 60% travel

English Proficiency Level: Professional - Comfortable using English in all professional aspects, including written English (e.g., ability to effectively speak in meetings and with English-speaking teammates and stakeholders as well as read engagement related materials such as roadmaps, emails, etc.)
