Senior Okta IAM Developer & Architect
 
Job Description
 
We are looking for a Senior-Level Okta IAM Developer & Architect to join our team. In this role, you will lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise Okta Identity and Access Management (IAM) and Customer Identity and Access Management (CIAM) solutions. You will partner closely with business stakeholders, software developers, and enterprise architects to translate complex business requirements into secure, scalable, and robust identity solutions. Responsibilities
  • Architecture & Design: Architect and design end-to-end Okta IAM and CIAM solutions tailored to organizational security and business goals. [1, 2]
  • Feature Implementation: Configure and deploy core Okta functionalities, including Single Sign-On (SSO), Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA), Lifecycle Management (LCM), and Advanced Authorization. [1, 2, 3, 4, 5]
  • Custom Development: Build and maintain secure integrations with proprietary and third-party SaaS applications using Okta APIs, SDKs, and Okta Workflows. [1, 2]
  • Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional teams to gather technical requirements and deliver seamless identity experiences. [1, 2]
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Lead the testing, validation, and security auditing of all Okta deployments to ensure they meet industry-standard compliance and performance metrics.
  • Documentation: Author and maintain comprehensive technical specifications, architectural design documents, and operational deployment guides.
  • Support & Maintenance: Provide tier-3 architectural support and lead troubleshooting efforts for complex identity and authentication issues. [1]
  • Innovation: Stay current with evolving industry trends, emerging vectors, and best practices in modern identity protocols.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on experience developing, architecting, and deploying Okta solutions within enterprise IAM and CIAM environments.
  • Technical Mastery: Deep operational knowledge of Okta features, including SSO, MFA, Access Gateway, and Lifecycle Management.
  • Development Skills: Strong programming proficiency in languages such as Java, Python, or .NET.
  • Protocols & APIs: Advanced expertise working with REST APIs, SDKs, web services, and modern identity protocols (SAML 2.0, OIDC, OAuth 2.0, SCIM).
  • Core Concepts: Thorough understanding of structural identity management concepts, including directory virtualization, user provisioning, and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Soft Skills: Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills.
  • Certifications (Mandatory): Active certification as an Okta Certified Developer, Okta Certified Consultant, or Okta Certified Technical Architect.
