We are currently seeking a EDS Project Manager to join our team in Montgomery, Alabama (US-AL), United States (US).

Overview of job:
The Project Manager will play a key role in the successful implementation and adoption of a large health care system implementations/enhancements. The Project Manager will be primarily responsible for the health of the Enterprise Data Warehouse/Services module project, which will include oversight of the procurement, vendor selection, and implementation of a module that replaces the current Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) back-end functional areas – Decision Support System, Management and Administrative Reporting (MAR), and Surveillance and Utilization Review (SUR).  The new module will also include the functionality to provide federal MSIS reporting to CMS. The Project Manager will be responsible for performing, delegating, and managing the activities within the cohort project team, working closely with direct business partners and vendor teams. He/she will actively participate in the development and delivery of program and quality management services and associated deliverables.
The Project Manager will work under the direct leadership of the PMO Program Manager.
•    Primary point of contact for the procurement and implementation of the enterprise data warehouse/services module, including DSS, MAR, SUR, and T-MSIS
•    Responsible for the health and quality of the vendor/cohort project 
•    Responsible for keeping all phases of the vendor/cohort project on time
•    Oversee daily activities of the vendor/cohort team including making assignments and maintaining control over the assignments, schedule, and performance of the project team members
•    Develop and maintain a project schedule and monitor key milestones and deliverables
•    Manage and report on project issues
•    Perform review / assessment of project deliverables, project work products, and other activities necessary of an effective PMO team
•    Assess project risk and evaluate the effectiveness of mitigation strategies applied
•    Support NTT Project Management methodology, process, and implementation guidance
•    Assist with the development, maintenance, and execution of the Program Management Plan and Integrated Project Plans
•    Monitor progress and quality against the established Project Management Plan
•    Evaluate whether the Contractor work plans, including tools and resource allocations, are appropriate and reasonable in meeting project timeframes
•    Participate in project activities and review and comment on essential project documents to ensure an effective project management process (including, but not limited to risk management, schedule, and cost management, change management and issue resolution) is consistent with approved project plans
•    Monitor outcomes of project controlling activities such as risk identification and mitigation, issue resolution, budget status, change requests affecting scope, etc. to ensure processes are being utilized, are effective, and updated as needed
•    Prepare or contribute to status reports and agendas for weekly, bi-weekly, and monthly meetings
•    Participate in and communicate organizational project strategy decisions

Mandatory Qualifications:
•    5+ Years of experience as a Project Manager
•    3+ Years of Enterprise Data Warehouse experience as a Project Manager
•    3 + Years of experience with one of  the following: DSS, MARS, SURS, and T-MSIS
•    3+ years of experience managing Medicaid Projects
•    3+ years of Experience managing  vendor projects
•    3+ years experience with Microsoft Project 
•    having gone through at least one CMS  procurement process

- having  gone through at least one CMS certification process 
•    1+ years performing procurement work / oor being involved in the procurement process (developing RFIs/RFPs, vendor selection and evaluation, etc.)

•    1 yr+ working on a project involving  Medicaid Transformation and modernization initiaves
•    Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or similar field or 8 years total work experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:
•    PMP certification or willingness to achieve certification within 9 months of employment
•    PMO Experience 

•    1+ years experience with Medicaid Information Technology Architecture (MITA) 3.0 including the maturity matrix and the Seven Conditions and Standards
•    Experience with state IT system procurement process 
•    Must be a team player and a consistent, dependable performer with an excellent work ethic, flexible "can-do" attitude, and a results-driven commitment to success
•    Excellent problem-solving and customer service skills
•    Experience with communications and presentations to executive management
•    Experience with contract administration and vendor management
•    Strong leadership aptitude to foster a positive work environment that considers the dynamics of physical, social, psychological, and environmental factors
•    Strong interpersonal skills to build client rapport and develop/discipline/reward employees
•    Ability to handle ambiguity and change
