Job Description:

 

The Employee Relations Specialist will be a member of the Employee Relations (ER) Center of Excellence based in India.  This role will be responsible for supporting the ER issues (such as including investigations, performance management, etc.) and processes for aligned business groups.

 

The ER Specialist will partner closely with business managers, as well as the HR team.  Responsibilities include:

 

  • Assisting in HR-related investigations (review complaints, evidence, interviews, preparing analysis).
  • Coaching, counselling, reviewing performance-related actions, up to and including performance improvement plans, warnings, attendance issues, etc.
  • Provide recommendations to managers on appropriate action ensuring compliance with company policies and the law.
  • Identify trends and conduct ER-related training sessions for HR teams and/or managers regarding policy, industry trends and internal company ER practices/procedures.
  • Analyze investigation data and prepare investigation reports.
  • Review performance management documentation (e.g., PIPs, warning documents, correspondence, etc.).
  • Maintain Company ER templates and data.
  • Maintains timely and accurate documentation of employee relations issues and incidents.
  • Drive closure for ER matters thoroughly and expeditiously, ensuring compliance.
  • Manage day to day transactions from the ER perspective
  • Liaise with stakeholders for Tracking and Reporting the progress of assigned activities
  • Actively work with ICC for POSH compliance, and mitigation of risks.

 

Job Level Specific Duties
• Provides guidance and counsel on employee relations issues, company policies and guidelines, performance management, hiring and training and development.
• Responsible for a majority of actions and activities for a particular client group or location including coaching, counselling, disciplinary actions and terminations in compliance with local employment laws.
• May assist with HR related inquiries and investigations.
• Ensures client groups understanding and compliance of HR policies, regulations and practices.
• Keeps HR-BPs and business management advised of potential problem areas and recommends/implements solutions as appropriate.
• Provides reporting and analysis as needed
• Monitors and tracks completion and quality of employee performance improvement plans.
• Ensures that all paperwork is accurately completed and sent to corporate tool in a timely manner.
• Works as a team member on corporate-wide HR projects and initiatives and assists with rollout activities at the local level.
• May perform as a specialist within a particular discipline of Employee Relations, in responding to requests or specializes in a local country/region.

Typical Years of Experience

• Typically requires 7-10 years relevant experience.

Minimum Education and Certifications

• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience in an Employee Relations, Generalist or HR Business Partner role

• Excellent coaching, influencing, conflict resolution, negotiation, facilitation, presentation, communication, process development, analysis and problem solving skills.
• Experience in organizational development/redesign and ability to build strong partnerships at all levels within the organization.
• Strong change management and project management skills.
• Working knowledge of employment law.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; fluency in local language.
• Strong multi-tasking skills.
• Experience in conducting workplace investigations.
• Ability to influence leaders at all levels from front line managers to senior executives.
• Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
• Proven experience as a successful coach to leaders and employees related to work challenges, change management efforts, managing poor performers etc.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and quantitative capabilities.
• Experience supporting organizations with globally diverse cultures and geographically dispersed employee bases.

• Preference for those having experience in handling sexual harassment cases through ICC

Physical Requirements/ Working Conditions

• Ability to physically perform general office requirements.
• Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations.
• Occasional travel including rare possibilities of overnight domestic or outstation trips may be required, based on official needs.
