PAYMENTS BUSINESS ANALYST

 

Job Summary

We are seeking a Business Analyst (BA) with at least 8 years of BA experience and strong domain expertise in Payments over the last 4 years, specifically in cross-border payments and domestic real-time payments (RTP). The ideal candidate will be skilled in translating business needs into clear, detailed functional requirements and working closely with stakeholders across product, technology, and operations teams. Experience with ACH payment systems is highly regarded.


Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, and document business and functional requirements for payment-related initiatives
  • Work closely with stakeholders to understand needs in cross-border payments and domestic RTP systems
  • Translate business requirements into detailed functional specifications, user stories, and process flows
  • Collaborate with technology teams to ensure accurate implementation of requirements
  • Support end-to-end project lifecycle, including requirement validation, testing, and deployment
  • Conduct gap analysis and propose solutions aligned with business objectives
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards in payments
  • Facilitate workshops, stakeholder meetings, and requirement review sessions

A successful candidate will be able to show (on a resume), and be able to discuss (in a technical interview) the following

Key Required Skills:

  • 8+ years of experience in Business Analysis and Requirements Gathering 
  • The most recent 4 years of experience must be in the Payments domain.
  • Understanding of Process Modeling (e.g., BPMN, flow diagrams)
  • Strong knowledge of cross-border payments and domestic real-time payment (RTP) systems
  • Expertise in writing clear and detailed functional requirements and documentation
  • Experience working with stakeholders across business and technology teams
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with Agile and/or hybrid delivery methodologies

Basic Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
  • 4+ recent years of Business Analyst experience in the Payments domain
  • 4+ Functional Documentation (such ask User stories, BRD and FRD could be acceptable) experience
  • 4+ Stakeholder Management experience
  • 3+ years of demonstrated knowledge of cross-border payments and domestic real-time payment (RTP) systems

Highly Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with ACH (Automated Clearing House) payment systems,
  • Understanding of payment networks, messaging standards (e.g., ISO 20022, SWIFT), and settlement processes
  • Exposure to regulatory and compliance frameworks in payments

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this hybrid role is $128,000-$170,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position in the New York City area. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.  This position is eligible for company benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance with an employer contribution, flexible spending or health savings account, life and AD&D insurance, short and long term disability coverage, paid time off, employee assistance, participation in a 401k program with company match, and additional voluntary or legally-required benefits.
