We are currently seeking a Tech Consultant - Senior Java Full-Stack Engineer to join our team in Arlington, VA, New York City, NY and St. Louis, MO in the United States (US).

Location: Arlington, VA, New York, NY is Hybrid work model and St. Louis, MO is remote, but you MUST live within a daily commutable distance.

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Java Full Stack & AWS Developer with strong hands-on expertise in Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, React/Angular, REST APIs, and AWS cloud services. The ideal candidate will design, develop, and deploy scalable, secure, and high-performing cloud-native enterprise applications.

The role requires close collaboration with architects, Product Owners, QA, DevOps, and other engineering teams to deliver end-to-end solutions using modern software engineering and AWS cloud practices.

Day to Day Job Duties

• Design, develop, test, and maintain end-to-end enterprise applications using Java and modern frontend technologies.
• Develop backend services using Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, and REST APIs.
• Build responsive and reusable user interfaces using React or Angular.
• Design and deploy cloud-native applications and services on AWS.
• Integrate applications with internal/external APIs, databases, messaging platforms, and AWS services.
• Develop event-driven and asynchronous solutions using AWS and messaging technologies.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries and application data-access components.
• Write unit and integration tests and participate in code reviews.
• Troubleshoot application, API, cloud, and production issues and perform root cause analysis.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to implement CI/CD pipelines and automated deployments.
• Support containerized application deployments using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS.
• Participate in technical design, Agile/Scrum ceremonies, estimation, and release planning.

Basic Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and enterprise application development.
• 4+ years of experience developing Microservices, REST APIs, and distributed applications.
• 3+ years of experience with React or Angular, JavaScript/TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience developing and deploying applications on AWS.

Technical Skills

• Backend: Java, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, JPA/Hibernate
• Frontend: React/Angular, JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML5, CSS3
• Architecture: Microservices, REST APIs, Cloud-Native Architecture
• AWS: EC2, S3, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS, EKS/ECS, CloudWatch, IAM
• Databases: Oracle, PostgreSQL, MySQL or other relational databases
• Messaging: Kafka, SQS, SNS or similar technologies
• Containers: Docker, Kubernetes, Amazon EKS
• DevOps: Git, Jenkins, GitHub Actions/GitLab CI, CI/CD
• Testing: JUnit, Mockito, API and Integration Testing

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS serverless architecture using Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, and SNS.
• Experience with Amazon EKS/ECS and containerized Microservices.
• Knowledge of Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
• Experience with event-driven architecture and Kafka.
• Knowledge of AWS IAM, security, networking, and secrets management.
• Experience with application monitoring and observability using CloudWatch, Splunk, Dynatrace, Datadog, or similar tools.
• Understanding of secure coding and cloud security best practices.
• Experience with automated testing and CI/CD-based deployments.
• AWS Developer or AWS Solutions Architect certification is preferred.
• Experience working in Banking, Financial Services, Insurance, or other enterprise environments.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills.
