We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Back-End Java Developer to join our dynamic technology team at NTT DATA Services Ireland. In this role, you will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust server-side applications that power critical operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance, and maintain server-side applications using Core Java and Java 8 to support banking operations.
• Implement and manage scalable microservices architectures using frameworks like Spring Boot.
• Integrate third-party APIs, web services, and internal banking systems to ensure seamless data flow.
• Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure system reliability and scalability.
• Work with databases such as SQL to design schemas, write complex queries, and manage transactions.
• Good understanding of Message brokers like KAFKA.
• Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
• Deploy, manage, and maintain applications on WebSphere servers.
• Collaborate with front-end developers, business analysts, and other stakeholders to deliver user-centric solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, following best practices for
  software development.
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and share knowledge with
  the team.
• Adhere to stringent security protocols to safeguard sensitive financial data and ensure compliance with banking regulations.
• Utilize CJP (Certified Java Professional) best practices and standards to ensure high-quality code.
• Contribute to the migration and optimization of applications on cloud platforms such as AWS.

Required Skills

• Strong proficiency in Core Java and Java 8.
• In-depth knowledge of frameworks like Spring Boot (or similar frameworks).
• Experience with SQL databases, including schema design, optimization, and performance tuning.
• Hands-on experience with WebSphere servers for application deployment and management.
• Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, including deployment, scaling, and monitoring applications.
• Skilled in designing and implementing robust RESTful APIs.
• Solid understanding of security best practices in the financial sector.
• Strong understanding of version control systems like Git.
• Awareness of regulatory requirements in financial software development is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications, such as AWS Certified Developer, Certified Java Professional (CJP), or financial technology certifications, are highly desirable.

Experience

• 8–10 years of professional experience in back-end development, with a strong focus on financial services or banking applications.
• Proven track record of delivering complex, high-availability applications in a fast-paced environment.

Soft Skills

• Strong problem-solving skills and analytical thinking to address complex technical challenges.
• Meticulous attention to detail to ensure code quality and system integrity.
• Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams.
• Adaptability and eagerness to learn emerging technologies and banking trends.
