We are currently seeking a Configuration Specialist Advisor SCCM SME to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).
Role Overview
The Grade 11 Senior Advisory Specialist – SCCM/Intune & Team Lead is a practice-defining senior role within NTT DATA's Enterprise Endpoint Management (EPM) team. This individual serves as the primary technical authority for Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM/SCCM) and Microsoft Intune deployments across enterprise client accounts, while simultaneously owning team leadership, mentoring, and capability development for a multi-grade delivery team. The role demands deep hands-on mastery of both platforms combined with the strategic advisory skill to translate complex endpoint challenges into scalable, governed, and commercially sound solutions.
At Grade 11, the individual is expected to operate with minimal supervision, influence client direction at the senior stakeholder level, and be a visible contributor to EPM practice growth — including pre-sales, solution design, and service offering development.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership – SCCM / MECM
- Serve as the definitive technical authority for MECM/SCCM CB (Current Branch) design, architecture, and governance across client environments.
- Lead greenfield SCCM infrastructure deployments, CB upgrade programmes, and site hierarchy redesigns for enterprise-scale clients.
- Architect and govern Software Update (SUP), Application Management, OS Deployment (OSD), and Endpoint Protection workloads at scale.
- Define and enforce patch compliance frameworks, WSUS topology, ADR and maintenance window policies aligned to client SLAs.
- Lead complex OSD and task sequence engineering for Windows 11 migrations, hardware refresh cycles, and golden image pipelines.
- Govern SCCM boundary, boundary group, and content distribution architecture for geographically dispersed enterprise estates.
- Act as the escalation authority for all Priority-1/Priority-2 SCCM incidents, driving root cause analysis and permanent resolution.
- Lead SCCM-to-Intune co-management or full migration engagements — discovery, roadmap development, phased execution, and post-migration stabilisation.
- Review and approve all significant SCCM change requests (CRs) within client change management processes.
Technical Leadership – Microsoft Intune / Modern Endpoint Management
- Lead Modern Endpoint Management (MEM) architecture across Microsoft Intune for Windows 10/11, iOS, Android, and macOS device fleets.
- Design and govern Autopilot deployment profiles, enrollment policies, and ESP configuration for enterprise Zero-Touch provisioning.
- Architect compliance policy frameworks, Conditional Access integration, and Microsoft Defender for Endpoint security posture.
- Own RBAC model design, scope tags, and administrative unit governance within Intune and Entra ID.
- Lead configuration profile, update ring, and feature update policy design aligned to client security and operational requirements.
- Govern MAM (Mobile Application Management) policies for BYOD, COBO, and COPE device scenarios.
- Lead Intune workload transition planning within SCCM/Intune co-management scenarios, defining phased handover milestones.
- Provide guidance on Windows Autopatch adoption and readiness assessment for eligible clients.
- Stay current with Microsoft 365 roadmap changes and evaluate impact on managed Intune environments; translate into client advisory notes.
Team Lead Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a multi-grade delivery team (Grade 7–10) across SCCM, Intune, and Modern Endpoint Management workstreams.
- Conduct regular 1:1 sessions, performance conversations, and technical coaching for all direct and indirect reports.
- Define individual development plans (IDPs) for team members, aligning learning paths to practice skill requirements and certification targets.
- Drive quality assurance across team deliverables — peer review of technical designs, runbooks, change requests, and client-facing documents.
- Allocate team capacity across client accounts and workstreams in coordination with the Delivery Manager/Associate Director.
- Manage escalations from within the team — provide technical guidance and intervention for incidents that exceed team bandwidth.
- Lead daily and weekly team stand-ups, sprint reviews, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Identify skill gaps within the team and drive hiring, onboarding, and knowledge transfer programmes.
- Act as a line-of-sight lead for team wellbeing, engagement, and retention within the EPM practice.
Client Advisory & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage directly with client CIOs, IT Directors, and Senior Architects as the trusted endpoint management advisor.
- Lead client workshops, roadmap sessions, and quarterly service reviews (QSR) for assigned enterprise accounts.
- Produce and present technical position papers, gap analyses, and strategic transformation roadmaps.
- Represent NTT DATA EPM capabilities in client-facing pre-sales and bid support activities — including solution design, effort estimation, and SOW inputs.
- Conduct technology health assessments and maturity benchmarking across client endpoint environments.
- Influence client decisions on platform investments — SCCM infrastructure upgrades, Intune licensing tiers, co-pilot and security tooling integration.
Governance, Compliance & Practice Development
- Define and maintain endpoint management standards, SOPs, and runbooks for the EPM practice and client delivery.
- Lead audit readiness activities — provide compliance evidence for device inventory, patch posture, and policy configurations.
- Drive adoption of EPM replicable frameworks, standard operating procedures, and delivery accelerators across accounts.
- Contribute to EPM practice thought leadership through knowledge articles, internal CoP sessions, and Show & Tell presentations.
- Evaluate emerging Microsoft technologies (Windows 365, Copilot+, Universal Print, Intune Suite) and develop advisory positions for clients.
- Support regulatory and compliance alignment across ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Benchmarks, and client-specific security standards.
PowerShell & Automation
- Lead PowerShell automation development for SCCM administration, Intune Graph API workflows, and endpoint lifecycle operations.
- Govern the team's automation library — design, peer review, and quality-gate all scripts entering production.
- Design and deliver Microsoft Graph API automation for Intune bulk operations, reporting, and compliance remediation.
- Identify and drive automation opportunities across repetitive delivery tasks to improve team efficiency and reduce toil.
