Role Overview
The Offshore Data Architect will serve as the senior technical architecture owner for the Inseego Applications Migration - Day 1 workstream. The role will study, coordinate, and guide application-to-application data migrations required for Day 1 business continuity, while also shaping the Day 2 roadmap for data platform, Microsoft Fabric, warehousing, analytics, and broader data architecture modernization. This Grade 12 role requires a hands-on architecture leader who can translate client goals, constraints, and source-system realities into practical migration designs, quality controls, and implementation guidance for distributed delivery teams.
Key Responsibilities
Architecture Leadership & Data Migration Strategy
- Own the end-to-end data architecture approach for application-to-application migrations supporting Inseego Day 1 readiness.
- Assess source and target application data flows, data dependencies, interfaces, master/reference data considerations, and migration sequencing risks.
- Define architecture guidance for data ingestion, transformation, consumption, testing, storage, reconciliation, and exception management.
- Develop architecture artifacts including data flow diagrams, migration patterns, interface considerations, data mapping assumptions, and integration design notes.
- Identify where Day 1 migration decisions create Day 2 data implications, especially for analytics, warehousing, Microsoft Fabric, governance, and future-state data management.
Day 1 Application Migration Enablement
- Partner with application, ERP/NetSuite, Salesforce, engineering systems, integration, infrastructure, and security teams to understand how application data will move into the Inseego landscape.
- Guide migration analysis for functional and technical workstreams by clarifying data ownership, data lineage, source-of-truth decisions, and landing patterns.
- Support migration planning for applications moving away from Nokia operating models and infrastructure into Inseego target platforms.
- Define practical reconciliation and validation approaches so migrated data is complete, accurate, traceable, and usable for downstream operations.
- Surface and document architecture risks tied to data quality, cutover sequencing, application dependencies, historical data, reporting continuity, and post-Day 1 support.
Day 2 Data Platform & Warehousing Planning
- Develop recommendations for the Day 2 data platform roadmap, including Microsoft Fabric, enterprise warehousing, lakehouse, reporting, analytics, and data integration considerations.
- Define future-state patterns for ingestion, transformation, semantic modeling, data quality, metadata, governance, lineage, and security controls.
- Evaluate where interim Day 1 application decisions should be designed to avoid rework in the Day 2 data platform migration and build.
- Advise on scalable data architecture patterns across cloud data platforms such as Azure, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, or GCP as relevant to the future target landscape.
- Recommend acceleration opportunities through repeatable templates, reusable migration patterns, and architecture standards.
Technical Governance & Offshore Delivery Leadership
- Provide offshore technical leadership for data architecture tasks, design reviews, development guidance, and delivery quality controls.
- Act as technical escalation point for data architecture questions, data migration design issues, and cross-workstream dependencies.
- Mentor offshore engineers, analysts, and integration resources on approved architecture standards and data migration practices.
- Participate in sprint planning, workstream checkpoints, technical walkthroughs, defect reviews, and readiness reviews.
- Maintain architecture decision records, migration runbooks, technical assumptions, and handover documentation for post-Day 1 support.
Client & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Collaborate with NTT DATA onshore leadership and Inseego stakeholders to clarify scope, confirm assumptions, and align technical recommendations with business priorities.
- Translate complex data architecture issues into clear options, impacts, and decisions for project leadership.
- Support client-facing technical discussions as time zone and delivery model allow, with primary day-to-day execution leadership from offshore.
- Proactively identify risks, dependencies, design gaps, and remediation options that could affect Day 1 readiness or Day 2 architecture outcomes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 12-15 years of relevant experience in enterprise data architecture, cloud data platforms, application data migration, data warehousing, or large-scale data modernization programs.
- Prior experience acting as technical owner or lead architect for end-to-end business process flows within a cloud data platform or enterprise data migration initiative.
- Expert understanding of modern data platforms such as Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, Snowflake, AWS, GCP, or equivalent cloud data ecosystems.
- Strong experience with data lake, lakehouse, data mesh, warehouse, integration, ingestion, transformation, and consumption-layer architecture patterns.
- Strong understanding of application-to-application migration, interface analysis, data mapping, reconciliation, cutover planning, and post-migration support considerations.
- Ability to define architecture for cloud data platforms, including technology selection, methodology, design patterns, data ingestion patterns, data access patterns, data modeling, and programming approaches.
- Experience leading three or more lifecycle cloud data platform or data migration implementation projects as a technical leader or senior architect.
- Advanced SQL and data modeling skills, with ability to interpret source structures, assess target fit, and guide validation approaches.
- Strong communication, documentation, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills in distributed onshore/offshore delivery models.
- Bachelor's degree required; graduate degree preferred.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Snowflake, dbt, Informatica, Airflow, or comparable cloud data and integration tools.
- Experience with ERP, CRM, engineering systems, manufacturing, finance, procurement, or supply chain application migrations.
- Experience with M&A integration, TSA exit, Day 1 / Day 2 migration planning, or enterprise application modernization programs.
- Cloud or data platform certifications in Azure, AWS, GCP, Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric, or equivalent platforms.
- Experience producing architecture artifacts for executive, client, delivery, and engineering audiences.
Offshore Role Focus
This offshore Grade 12 Data Architect is intended to provide senior architecture ownership and delivery enablement from India, working with onshore NTT DATA and Inseego stakeholders while driving detailed design, execution governance, and readiness for Day 2 data platform planning.
