We are currently seeking a Environment Manager to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).
Job Summary:
The Environments Manager is responsible for the complete lifecycle management of IT environments (Development, Test, User Acceptance Testing, and Production) across various applications and systems. This involves close collaboration with development, quality assurance, and operations teams to guarantee consistent, stable, and efficient environments. The role also includes implementing automation and promoting environmentally responsible practices.
Key Responsibilities:
Environment Lifecycle Management:
- Provisioning and Configuration: Setting up new environments, software, and network configurations, based on project requirements.
- Cloning and Refreshing: Creating copies of existing environments for testing and development purposes, ensuring data consistency and integrity.
- Patching and Upgrades: Applying software updates and security patches to maintain environment stability and security.
- Decommissioning: Securely retiring obsolete environments to free up resources and minimize costs.
- Version Alignment: Maintaining consistency in software versions across different environments to avoid compatibility issues.
Collaboration and Coordination:
- Cross-functional Teamwork: Working closely with development, QA, and operations teams to ensure seamless environment transitions and smooth deployments.
- Environment Scheduling: Managing the availability of environments for different project phases and activities.
- Access Controls: Implementing and enforcing security protocols and access permissions for various environments.
- Conflict Resolution: Addressing and resolving environment-related conflicts and issues promptly.
Automation and Optimization:
- Automation Implementation: Utilizing scripting and automation tools to streamline environment setup, deployment, and maintenance tasks.
- Environment Monitoring: Tracking environment usage, performance metrics, and resource allocation to identify areas for optimization.
- Performance Tuning: Implementing strategies to improve environment performance, such as server optimization and database tuning.
Green IT Initiatives:
- Environmental Impact Assessment: Evaluating vendors, tools, and technologies for their environmental impact and compliance with sustainability standards.
- Server Optimization: Implementing strategies for server consolidation, virtualization, and power management to minimize energy waste.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Proven experience in managing IT environments, preferably in a complex, multi-application setting.
- Strong understanding of software development lifecycles and deployment processes.
- Proficiency in scripting languages and automation tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
