Technology Consultant – Senior Java Spring Boot Developer

Role Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Java Spring Boot Developer with strong expertise in designing, developing, and leading the implementation of enterprise-grade applications and Microservices-based architectures. The ideal candidate should possess deep technical knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, cloud-native development, distributed systems, and database technologies.

The role requires close collaboration with business stakeholders, Solution Architects, Product Owners, DevOps teams, and development teams to design scalable, secure, and high-performing solutions. The candidate is expected to provide technical leadership, mentor junior developers, drive best practices, and contribute to architectural decisions across multiple initiatives.

Day to Day Job Duties

1. Design, develop, and maintain highly scalable Java Spring Boot applications and Microservices.
2. Lead application architecture discussions and contribute to technical solution design.
3. Analyze business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions.
4. Develop and maintain RESTful APIs, backend services, and integration frameworks.
5. Design and implement secure, fault-tolerant, and high-availability systems.
6. Lead code reviews and enforce coding standards, development best practices, and security guidelines.
7. Optimize application performance, scalability, resiliency, and maintainability.
8. Design database schemas and optimize SQL queries for complex business applications.
9. Implement authentication, authorization, and API security using Spring Security, OAuth2, JWT, and SSO frameworks.
10. Collaborate with DevOps teams on CI/CD pipelines, automated deployments, and infrastructure optimization.
11. Troubleshoot production issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolution activities.
12. Mentor and guide junior and mid-level developers through technical leadership and knowledge sharing.
13. Work closely with architects and cross-functional teams to define technical roadmaps and modernization strategies.
14. Ensure adherence to enterprise architecture standards, compliance requirements, and security policies.
15. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

1. 8+ years of hands-on experience in Java application development.
2. 5+ years of experience with Spring Boot, REST APIs, and Microservices architecture.
3. 5+ years of experience with relational databases, SQL optimization, and data modeling.
4. 3+ years of experience with cloud-native application development and containerized deployments.
5. Proven experience in designing and delivering enterprise-scale distributed applications.
6. Experience leading development teams and mentoring junior engineers.
7. Strong understanding of software design patterns, object-oriented design principles, and application architecture.

Nice to Have

1. Experience designing and implementing large-scale Microservices architectures.
2. Strong experience with Spring Cloud components such as Eureka, Config Server, Gateway, Feign, and Circuit Breaker patterns.
3. Experience with Kafka-driven event streaming and real-time data processing solutions.
4. Experience deploying and managing applications on Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS), OpenShift, or AWS EKS.
5. Expertise in application modernization and monolith-to-microservices transformation initiatives.
6. Experience with NoSQL databases such as MongoDB, Cassandra, or DynamoDB.
7. Familiarity with Service Mesh technologies such as Istio.
8. Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, ARM Templates, or CloudFormation.
9. Hands-on experience with observability, distributed tracing, and performance engineering.
10. Experience working in highly regulated enterprise environments with security and compliance requirements.
11. Knowledge of AI/ML integration frameworks and API-based integrations.
12. Experience in solution estimation, technical governance, and stakeholder management.
13. Certifications in Java, Spring, Azure, AWS, Kubernetes, or Cloud Technologies are preferred.
14. Excellent analytical, communication, leadership, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Experience Profile

• 8+ years of Backend Application Development
• 5+ years of Spring Boot & Microservices Development
• 3+ years of Cloud Platform Experience (Azure/AWS/GCP)
• Strong experience in Enterprise Integration and API Development
• Experience leading technical teams and architecture discussions
• Experience working in Agile delivery environments
• Exposure to Digital Transformation and Cloud Modernization programs preferred.
