Senior Developer – Data Modernization & Archiving

 

Project Overview

We are seeking Senior Developers to support a data modernization and archiving initiative involving the migration of historical financial data from a legacy UNISYS mainframe environment to a secure, scalable, and user-friendly archival solution.

The successful candidates will bring strong experience in Microsoft Power BI, Oracle PL/SQL, and ETL development, with a proven ability to work across data analysis, data modelling, migration, business intelligence, reporting, validation, testing, integration, and deployment.

Working closely with business and technical stakeholders, the Senior Developers will help design and implement solutions that meet requirements for data quality, reporting, performance, governance, and long-term data retention.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Gather, analyze, validate, and translate business and technical requirements into functional and technical specifications.
  • Analyze legacy and source-system data and develop data models, mappings, business rules, and data structures.
  • Design, develop, and maintain Oracle PL/SQL and ETL processes supporting data migration, transformation, and archival.
  • Design, develop, and enhance Microsoft Power BI dashboards, reports, datasets, and visualizations.
  • Develop business intelligence and ad-hoc reporting solutions to support business and operational requirements.
  • Integrate reporting and data solutions with existing applications, databases, and other data sources.
  • Develop data validation, reconciliation, error-handling, and quality assurance processes to ensure data integrity.
  • Perform unit testing, data validation, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and defect resolution.
  • Support reporting integrations, APIs, embedded analytics, and related data services as required.
  • Collaborate with business, technical, and data stakeholders to address data quality, governance, reporting, and retention requirements.
  • Participate in stakeholder workshops to understand business objectives, KPIs, reporting requirements, and success criteria.
  • Prepare and maintain technical and functional documentation, including architecture, data mappings, workflows, technical specifications, and support procedures.
  • Support solution deployment, production implementation, release activities, and post-deployment support.
  • Provide user training, knowledge transfer, and transition-to-support activities.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of data, reporting, migration, and archival processes.

 

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in software development, data engineering, business intelligence, or a related discipline.
  • 5+ years of experience working as a Senior Software Developer, Senior Programmer, or in a comparable senior technical role.
  • 5+ years of experience with data analysis, data modelling, data mapping, and integration of multiple data sources.
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle PL/SQL and ETL development.
  • 2+ years of experience developing business intelligence reports, dashboards, datasets, and data visualizations using Microsoft Power BI.
  • 2+ years of experience designing or implementing data migration and/or archival solutions, including data validation, reconciliation, quality assurance, testing, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience working with complex or legacy data environments and transforming historical data into modern reporting or archival solutions.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders.

 

Additional Requirements

  • Must currently hold a valid Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance.
  • Must be fluent in English, including reading, writing, and speaking. French bilingualism is considered an asset.
  • Must possess a University Degree or College/CEGEP Diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline from a recognized post-secondary institution. Proof of education must be provided upon request.

 

Pay Transparency

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $ $75,570-$129,492 This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
