We are currently seeking a 3M Coordinator to join our team in Pearl Harbor, Hawaii (US-HI), United States (US).

 

This person will coordinate and help direct activities associated with the repair, maintenance and modernization of complex mechanical systems, electrical and electronic systems and other assets. Confers with management and other department heads to plan corrective and preventive maintenance and modernization, and to schedule inspections and major overhauls in coordination with other operating activities. Those functions include but are not limited to the following responsibilities:

  • Provide support of all locally assigned and/or maintained submarines in support of Type Commander 3M policy and directives.
  • Provide continuous liaison between the on-site representative, Submarine Squadrons, Naval Submarine Support Center (NSSC), and ship personnel on all matters relating to 3M.
  • Ensure all decisions or actions which affect Program policy, procedures, and priorities, are referred to Type Commander (TYCOM) by the on-site representative for resolution.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for the 3M Office to ensure all program objectives are being met and properly reported.
  • Function as the 3M Inspection Team Lead for assigned units.
  • Assist in other 3M inspections, fleet maintenance activity, Quality Assurance and material management assessments as requested.
  • Conduct “spot checks” as requested by Immediate Superior in Command (ISIC), independent of formal inspections, to provide continuous monitoring of the shipboard Planned Maintenance System (PMS).
  • Provide findings related to 3M inspections with associated recommendations to the TYCOM.
  • Ensure shipboard PMS documentation is current and accurate.
  • Provide 3M training to squadron and ship personnel.
  • Validate proposed PMS as requested by various stakeholders.
  • Monitor and analyze Cost Schedule Status Report (CSRR), Total Ship Readiness Assessment (TSRA) and Board of Inspection and Survey (INSURV) results for Maintenance Plan impact.
  • Observe components and equipment undergoing repair in the shop and aboard ship. Seek out problems or recommendations for improvement in PMS support.
  • Maintain an interface and working relationship with other Commands such as TYCOMS and Regional Repair Centers to ensure a coordinated approach to the maintenance and logistic support provided to operating groups.
  • Other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience with the 3M system and FMP management practices and a thorough knowledge of automated modernization information systems applicable to K, KP and D SHIPALTS and SHIPALT contractor and installation activities.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience interpreting and implementing a broad range of management policies in automated modernization management systems.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience with procedures and policies pertinent to identifying the need for, acquiring, and installing computer support equipment required by the 3M program at both the TYCOM and fleet levels.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in submarine maintenance, IMA, or submarine repair.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience as a Ship’s 3M Coordinator and/or monitor of the 3M system while working in a Submarine Material Office (N4 Squadron, FMA, NSSC, Shipyard or higher).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Submarine Material Office (Squadron or NSSC) experience.
  • US Citizen-with the ability to obtain a Secret Clearance. 

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with computer skills including MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, and Project)
  • Some experience using the Submarine Modernization and Readiness Tool, (SMART) imbedded in the Navy Tool for Interoperability and Risk Assessment (NITRA) as required to support modernization.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
