NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Senior Mainframe Migration Technical Support Specialist, Phoenix, AZ to join our team in Phoenix, Arizona (US-AZ), United States (US).

 

 

NTT DATA's Application Modernization division of NTT DATA, Inc (NTT DATA App Mod Services) is the leading provider of re-hosting and migrating of Legacy mainframe applications to the open platforms UNIX, Linux and Windows. NTT DATA App Mod Services is growing and has an opening for a BPE (Batch Processing Environment) Developer. BPE is part of the UniKix suite of NTT DATA’s rehosting product suite.

NTTDATA is currently seeking a Senior Mainframe Migration Technical Support Specialist to join our team in Phoenix, AZ. We are looking for an energetic Technical Support Specialist with a desire to leverage existing experience in providing technical assistance and troubleshooting for products used for re-hosting legacy mainframe applications to Linux, UNIX and Windows.

Responsibilities

-         Respond to support calls and problem reports submitted via website and emails

-         Proactively keep support cases updated

-         Troubleshoot problems to isolate root cause

-         Submit and update product bug reports for development

-         Replicate issues in-house and set up for developers to work on

-         Answer questions and deliver solutions

Requirements

-         6+ year technical assistance and troubleshooting product support experience

-         6+ Experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, Java, C/C++, C#

-         6+ Experience with Java, C/C++, C#

-         Familiarity with legacy mainframe systems as well as UNIX, Linux, and Windows environments

-         Ability to effectively communicate and manage relationships with customers

-         Experience with problem determination and troubleshooting issues

-         Deep knowledge of UNIX and Linux internals

-         Expertise with shell scripting (i.e. sh, ksh, csh, bash)

-          

Preferences

-         Experience with installation, configuration and problem determination when using products (i.e.; Dell BPE

-         and TPE) used to migrate legacy applications from Mainframe to Open Systems UNIX, Linux and

-          Windows

-         Experience with Mainframe migrations application, DB2, IMS, IDMS, ADABAS in particular CICS and

-         batch jobs, file system (Sequential, VSAM, GDG)

-         Experience with data migration (e.g. from EBCDIC to ASCII, Big Endian to Little Endian)

-         Experience with open systems databases and third party products such as DB2 LUW, Oracle, Sybase,

-         MySQL, MS SQL, IBM MQ Series, CoSort, Syncsort

-         Knowledge of TCP/IP protocol, SNA protocol and related products, TPS/SNA primary, IBM Communications server,  DCL SNAP-IX, HP SNAPlus2

-         Knowledge of XML and web technology

-         Experience with UNIX/Linux system administration and programming (e.g. IPC, sockets, signals, etc.)

-         Experience performing core dump analysis

Basic Qualifications

-         6+ year technical assistance and troubleshooting product support experience

-         6+ Experience with COBOL, CICS, JCL, Java, C/C++, C#

-         6+ Experience with Java, C/C++, C#
