Senior Project Manager – Telecom Optimization (AMER)
We are seeking a Senior Project Manager – Telecom Optimization to lead a strategic telecom productivity initiative focused on optimizing wireline network services across the Americas (AMER).
This role will drive a structured telecom rationalization program reviewing ~400 network circuits, partnering closely with telecom suppliers and internal infrastructure teams to deliver ~$4M in cost savings for 2026 through circuit optimization, contract renegotiation, and service modernization.
The ideal candidate will combine strong project/program management, telecom domain expertise, financial rigor, and supplier engagement to execute a large-scale infrastructure cost optimization initiative.
Key Responsibilities
Telecom Optimization Project Leadership
- Lead execution of a telecom productivity initiative targeting ~$4M in savings in 2026.
- Develop and manage the telecom optimization roadmap including circuit rationalization, contract renegotiation, and service consolidation.
- Drive project / program governance, milestones, and delivery tracking to ensure savings targets are achieved.
Circuit Rationalization & Network Optimization
- Partner with telecom providers and internal teams to review ~400 AMER network circuits.
- Assist in identifying opportunities to:
- Eliminate redundant circuits
- Right-size bandwidth
- Decommission unused services
- Optimize service types (MPLS, DIA, broadband, etc.)
- Coordinate with network engineering teams to ensure network resiliency and service continuity during optimization activities.
Supplier Engagement & Contract Optimization
- Work closely with telecom suppliers to evaluate service inventory and pricing structures.
- Assist negotiations and structured reviews focused on cost reduction and contract optimization.
- Ensure vendors are accountable for identifying and executing cost savings opportunities.
Financial Tracking & Savings Realization
- Track telecom spend and savings against program targets.
- Develop reporting and dashboards to monitor:
- Circuit inventory
- Optimization progress
- Financial impact and realized savings
- Partner with Finance and Procurement to validate savings realization.
Cross-Functional Program Execution
- Collaborate with teams across:
- Network Engineering
- Network Architecture
- Infrastructure PMO
- Service Delivery
- Procurement
- Finance
- Telecom Manages Service Partner
- Ensure alignment with broader infrastructure modernization and productivity initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- 7–10+ years experience in telecom, network infrastructure, or IT cost optimization programs
- 5+ years of demonstrated experience managing telecom circuit inventories and carrier services
- 5+ years of strong understanding of enterprise telecom services including:
- MPLS
- DIA / broadband
- WAN connectivity
- Carrier network services
- 3 to 5 years of experience managing large vendor and telecom provider relationships
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience leading telecom rationalization or network transformation initiatives
- Familiarity with telecom expense management (TEM) tools
- Experience supporting MPLS modernization or WAN transformation programs
- Experience operating in large global enterprise environments
- Strong financial and analytical skills with experience tracking cost savings initiatives
- Proven ability to lead complex cross-functional infrastructure programs

- Delivery of ~$4M telecom savings in 2026
- Successful optimization of ~400 AMER telecom circuits
- Reduction of redundant or underutilized telecom services
- Improved telecom cost transparency and governance
- On-time execution of telecom optimization roadmap
Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $78,948 - $164,476. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
