NTT DATA Services currently seeks a Director, US Federal Tax to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).




The Director, US Federal Tax will be responsible for maintaining an efficient tax structure that is aligned with the company’s strategic short term and/or long-term objectives as well as monitoring and ensuring that the Company meets its US Federal compliance obligations.  This role will be responsible for managing the US Income Tax team and provide oversight and review of all aspects of tax compliance activities (returns, estimates and extension), US Withholding tax returns and certain statutory compliance activities such as FBAR and FATCA.  The role will also include tax planning and forecasting, preparation and review of the income tax provision in accordance for ASC740 and IFRS standards, documenting technical tax issues and uncertain tax positions. Establishing and maintaining tax policy, providing technical guidance and training, and reviewing results to ensure proper adherence to policy.  Partnering with the rest of the tax department, finance and accounting, business development and legal to provide efficient and effective tax-optimized structures/alternatives to consider as the company moves forward with its strategic business growth objectives.  The development of effective working relationships with management, as well as finance and other operating personnel, located throughout the world is required.



  • Responsible for managing the US Federal Tax team including grooming and mentoring the team for succession planning
  • Oversight of US Federal compliance for several companies across multiple jurisdictions to ensure all reporting obligations are satisfied completely, accurately and timely. 
  • Oversight and review of other statutory compliance, including but not limited to FBAR, FATCA, and Withholding tax
  • Establish and maintain the Federal tax policy, provide technical guidance and training, and review results to ensure proper adherence to policy. 
  • Maintaining an efficient tax structure that is aligned with the company’s strategic short term and/or long term objectives.
  • Identify, evaluate, and advise management on the Federal income tax consequences of legislative developments, as well as current and proposed transactions.
  • Identify, research, and implement tax planning strategies with the overall goal of reducing the Company’s cash taxes and effective tax rates
  • Oversight/Management of the Federal and related tax audits. Review scope of audit with agents, manage IDR responses, identify issues and resolutions favorable to the Company, and negotiate with agents to resolve issues.
  • Determine areas of tax exposure and provide risk mitigation alternatives

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
  • CPA and Masters of Taxation or LLM in Tax are preferred.
  • 15+ years’ experience in large corporate tax environments, mix of industry and public accounting preferred.
  • Experience with transitioning Federal tax compliance from partially outsourced engagement to full in-house compliance
  • Knowledge of accounting principles, corporate tax law and Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • The ability to manage multiple, large projects/processes.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced deadline driven environment.
  • Detail oriented; strong research and analytical skills.
  • Excellent presentation, communication (oral/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to identify and develop key talent; prepare for succession planning

Basic Qualifications:

  • Accounting Degree
  • 10+ years experience wokring for a multi-national company
