The Divisional President for the Public Sector State and Local Government & Education (SLED) vertical for NTT DATA is a critical, high-visibility role responsible for capturing significant growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability in the SLED space, working across the firm’s broad suite of service offerings: Consulting (business and technology), Outsourcing Services across Business Process, Digital, Application, and Infrastructure practices, while innovating for the future, and elevating NTT DATA’s presence within SLED. This person will be the “Face of NTT DATA” in the Public Sector SLED space and will be responsible for building strong relationships at the C-level public officials, on both the business and IT sides. This leader will guide the SLED strategy for this business; assisting in identifying customer needs, contributing to the sale of NTT DATA’s offerings, guiding the development of market-leading solutions, driving revenue growth through a team of client executives, sales executives, and sub-vertical leaders, and ensuring the successful and profitable delivery of services, while personally serving as the executive sponsor to the largest clients in the business unit and recruiting additional commercial talent into the business.
With P&L responsibility for the vertical (in partnership with various horizontal delivery organizations), this position will provide strong leadership to a large team that is geographically dispersed with a US footprint. While operational leadership is important, NTT DATA expects this leader will have a strong market-facing focus, shaping strategy with clients, bolstering the account leadership and sales teams, and staying abreast of critical themes and trends in the SLED market to shape strategy and offerings. Additionally, this person will focus heavily on optimizing NTT DATA’s strategic engagements to continue to fuel our business model
Divisional President responsibilities include:
- Divisional President participates in strategy sessions, budget development and updates, legal matters, human resource personnel decisions and community philanthropic events
- Divisional President is responsible for the entire SLED portfolio including the traditional systems integration, infrastructure and applications businesses, as well as the Government Consulting and Advisory sub-vertical..
- Management of a multi-hundred-million-dollar P&L with a particular focus on margin percentage attainment
- Create strategy to grow revenue and profit between 7-10% annually
- Drive the business to deliver technology solutions for public sector clients throughout North America
- Supervise 1,000+ team located throughout the United States and Puerto Rico
- Responsible for administration of contracts in 40+ States
- Official representative of NTT DATA. with senior government and education officials throughout the United States
- Serve as primary company spokesperson, advocate and champion, internally and externally on all issues relative to the growth of the SLED business and related services and solutions.
- Drive and improve operational efficiency, margin improvement and contract compliance/risk management
- Manage selling team of two Executives and approximately 18 sales and client executives in achieving a several hundred million annual TCV bookings target
- Manage a team of political consultants in key states to achieve SLED market and financial goals
- Speak at SLED and Corporate senior leader conferences and strategy sessions
- Participate in Senior Executive Quarterly Business Reviews of existing accounts to monitor key performance metrics and contract compliance, as well as drive innovation to achieve continuous operational and margin improvements.
- Evaluate M&A candidates for strategic value, organizational fit and cultural compatibility
- Play a key role in identifying market opportunities and help set short‑term and long‑term strategies for the company as it relates to the growth within the State/Local Government and Education market, aligning such strategies with overall corporate goals.
- Drive a culture of accountability, teamwork, and customer service.
- Collaborate with strategic support unit teams from People & Culture, Finance and Legal.
Basic Qualifications
- 20+ years of experience in State, Local & Education Sector (Management Consulting or IT Professional Services)
- 15+ years of experience in IT Services Firms with a minimum of 10 years of management experience at a National level.
- Frequent travel and international travel may be required.
- Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or sales. Advanced degree desirable.
- US Citizen preferred
