We are currently seeking a FinOps Senior Advisor to join our team remotely in the United States.

 

 

The FinOps Senior Advisor role is pivotal in managing and optimizing cloud financial operations, particularly within the AWS, Azure, and GCP ecosystem. This role goes beyond mere cost analysis; it involves applying a deep understanding of both finance and cloud technology to drive efficient cloud spending and usage. As a FinOps Senior Advisor, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies that align cloud investments with business objectives, ensuring that cloud resources are utilized effectively and economically.

 

In this role, you will oversee complex cloud financial operations, focusing on cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting. You will work across multiple teams, including finance, IT, and engineering, to enhance cloud financial management practices. Your expertise in AWS, Azure, and GCP services and pricing models will be crucial in identifying cost-saving opportunities and making informed decisions. You will be a subject matter expert in cloud financial management, partnering with various stakeholders to balance cost efficiency with other business needs such as performance and security. Your role will involve using data-driven insights to guide decisions and improve cloud financial operations.

 

You will operate in an environment that values collaboration and continuous improvement. While the primary focus is on Aptio Cloudability and Turbonomics, your role may also encompass other cloud native tools, depending on the organization's needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Own and drive the financial management of cloud resources, focusing on cost optimization, budgeting, and forecasting
  • Analyze cloud spending and usage data to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for cost savings
  • Implement and manage cloud cost management tools and processes
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate FinOps practices into the broader organizational context
  • Develop and enforce policies for cloud usage that balance cost, performance, and security
  • Educate and advise our clients on FinOps principles and best practices
  • Stay current with Aptio Cloudability and Turbonomics offerings and pricing models to continually identify new opportunities for cost optimization
  • Provide detailed financial reporting and insights to stakeholders, helping them understand cloud costs and make informed decisions
  • Participate in strategic planning of cloud usage to align with organizational financial goals and objectives
  • Mentor and guide clients in cloud financial management best practices
  • Establish key financial metrics and benchmarks to drive continuous improvement in cloud cost efficiency
  • Must be able to independently lead a FinOps advisory to clients

 

Preferred Experience:

  • Cloud Provider or FinOps Foundation Certification
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with financial analysis, reporting, and forecasting
  • Technical understanding of AWS, Azure, and GCP services and how they impact costs
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across different teams and stakeholders
  • Ability to balance technical and financial considerations in decision-making
  • A proactive approach to identifying and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Relevant certifications in AWS, Azure, and GCP or cloud financial management or willing to obtain with 3 months
  • A commitment to continuous learning and staying current with cloud technology and financial management trends

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8+ years in a consulting role
  • 5 years experience in cloud financial management - AWS, Azure, and/or GCP environments
  • 3 years experience with cloud native cost management tools and processes

 

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $125,685 to $290,938. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications. This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance.
