We are currently seeking an Observability & SRE Lead to join our team remotely in the US.

 

About the Role 

This role provides technical leadership and consultative support in observability and site reliability engineering for client engagements. The Observability & SRE Lead works directly with client stakeholders to define reliability objectives, shape observability strategies, and guide delivery teams in execution. This includes both advisory and hands-on leadership across U.S. and global delivery teams. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Client Engagement & Strategy 

    • Serve as the primary observability and SRE advisor for client stakeholders. 

    • Lead discussions to define service-level indicators (SLIs), service-level objectives (SLOs), and service-level agreements (SLAs) aligned with business outcomes. 

    • Translate platform and business requirements into clear observability strategies and structured delivery plans. 

    • Operate independently in client-facing environments, providing structure and clarity. 

 

  • Observability Architecture & Design 

    • Define and implement observability strategies for IoT and distributed platforms. 

    • Identify and define, or work with engineering teams to define, platform indicators and dashboards for an end-to-end IoT device platform. 

    • Design and configure dashboards using Grafana with Prometheus and Elasticsearch backends. 

    • Recommend observability dashboards for Azure IoT Hub, containerized services, and .NET workloads. 

    • Guide observability-as-code and alerting-as-code practices to standardize and automate telemetry. 

 

  • Delivery Leadership 

    • Translate client vision and objectives into actionable work items for nearshore and offshore delivery teams. 

    • Define scope, estimates, and delivery structure for observability workstreams. 

    • Guide engineering teams to deliver observability solutions and operational KPIs. 

    • Ensure quality and alignment between technical teams and business stakeholders. 

 

  • Operational Readiness 

    • Recommend and define SRE best practices to support platform reliability. 

  • Partner with client engineering and operations teams to embed observability into platform delivery and operations. 

 

Required Skills & Experience 

  • Experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services role. 

  • Strong ability to lead client discussions, shape observability strategy, and translate objectives into delivery. 

  • Practical experience defining and implementing SLIs, SLOs, and SLAs. 

  • Hands-on expertise with Grafana, Prometheus, and Elasticsearch (or equivalent). 

  • Experience defining indicators and dashboards for complex platforms. 

  • Ability to work independently and operate effectively in dynamic client environments. 

  • Strong delivery leadership: work breakdown, estimation, and coordination across distributed teams. 

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills with both technical and business stakeholders. 

  • Leveraging AI for specification and development. (Claude, GitHub Copilot, or equivalent) 

 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with ELK and OTel strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure and Azure Monitor. 

  • Familiarity with Kubernetes, microservices architectures, and .NET ecosystems. 

  • Experience working with Azure IoT Hub and containerized workloads. 

  • Knowledge of high availability, multi-region, and global deployment patterns. 

  • Implementation experience with observability-as-code and alerting-as-code. 

  • Background in IoT platforms or other large-scale distributed systems. 

  • Prior experience leading global delivery teams. 

  • Knowledge of incident response and error budget management practices.

Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this remote role is $142,222.00-$329,219.00. This range reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation for the position across all US locations. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s actual work location, relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
