We are currently seeking a Sr. Data Scientist to join our team in Plano, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

Data Science Practice Lead 
 
As a Data Science Practice Lead with NTT DATA’s Data Analytics and AI practice, you will be at the forefront of deploying data science solutions across industries, driving innovation and strategy, and playing a key role in presales and solution design. This role combines hands-on client delivery with strategic leadership of our Data Science practice and active business development. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in mathematical modeling, a proven track record in project/services consulting, and the ability to drive growth and innovation in a dynamic, client-focused environment. 
 
Key Responsibilities 
• Lead billable data science engagements for clients, designing and implementing advanced analytical solutions such as predictive modeling, optimization, and forecasting to address complex business challenges. 
• Oversee the Data Science practice, mentoring a team of data scientists, setting technical standards, and fostering a culture of innovation and excellence in mathematical modeling and analytics. 
• Drive growth by identifying new opportunities, cultivating client relationships, contributing to proposals, and expanding the firm’s Data and AI footprint in the market. 
• Develop and deploy sophisticated data science methodologies, including regression analysis, statistical modeling, and operations research techniques, to deliver measurable value to clients. 
• Represent the practice internally and externally through white papers, presentations, and industry events, positioning NTT DATA as a leader in data science consulting. 
 
Basic Qualifications 

• 8+ years of professional experience as a data scientist working with data science tools 

• 5+ years focused on mathematical modeling techniques such as predictive modeling, forecasting, regression analysis, or optimization (experience limited to data management or engineering alone does not qualify). 

• 4+ years in project/services consulting at a professional services firm, delivering client-facing, end-to-end data science solutions 

• Bachelor’s degree in quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering); Master’s degree in Analytics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent completed or in progress. 

• 3+ years leading data science teams or projects, managing at least 3+ direct reports or stakeholders, with documented delivery of client or business results. 

Preferred Skills 
• Advanced Modeling: Expertise in specialized techniques such as time-series analysis, machine learning optimization, or stochastic modeling. 
• Business Acumen: Strong understanding of industry verticals (e.g., finance, healthcare, supply chain) and the ability to translate data science solutions into business value for clients. 
• Client-Facing Skills: Exceptional communication and presentation abilities, with a track record of building trust and influencing senior stakeholders. 
• Business Development Success: Previous success in winning new business, contributing to RFPs, or growing a practice area within a consulting setting.
