We are currently seeking a Senior ServiceNow Business Process Consultant - SAM to join our team in Remote, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).

Senior ServiceNow Business Process Consultant - SAM

Location: Remote (with occasional travel as needed)

Role Overview:

NTT DATA is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Senior ServiceNow Business Process Consultant. This position is ideal for someone who excels in both strategic process consulting who can lead client engagements from discovery through delivery. The ideal candidate will be a trusted advisor to clients, helping them optimize their ServiceNow implementations through process alignment, requirements gathering, and stakeholder engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Process Consulting

  • Lead functional discovery sessions and process workshops to define client-specific business process solutions.
  • Advise clients on best practices for ServiceNow implementations across ITSM, ITOM, HRSD, CSM, and other modules.
  • Create dynamic collateral including process workflows, workshop presentations, and training materials.
  • Partner with IT leaders and process owners to drive organizational readiness and solution adoption.
  • Capture and document business requirements, user stories, and business cases aligned with ServiceNow capabilities.
  • Develop and maintain end-to-end process flows and gap analyses to support solution design.
  • Prepare and execute test plans, facilitate UAT, and support go-live activities.
  • Lead client training sessions and create user-friendly job aids to support platform adoption.

Key Competency - Software Asset Management (SAM) 

  • Expertise and ability to advise and consult on entire lifecycle of an organization's software applications, from acquisition to retirement, ensuring license compliance, optimizing usage, and reducing costs.
  • Experience consulting on SAM modules and tools including ServiceNow SAM and Publisher, Experience implementing tracking solutions for vendor contracts, auditing software usage, and implementing governance policies.
  • Entitlement and contract onboarding: Normalize the portfolio or focus on key vendors - Onboard and manage software entitlements and contracts within the platform. This includes ingesting and maintaining accurate underlying data for entitlement to ensure in-tool proactive informed risk and remediation management.

  • Tool-based compliance: Maximize technology capabilities to automate software asset compliance checks. This includes detecting unauthorized installations, ensuring license obligations are met, and identifying opportunities for optimization and cost savings

  •  Specialist knowledge the following SAM Concepts:
    • Vendor audit behavior and pressure tactics
    • Non-contractual license optimization opportunities
    • Strategic true-up planning to preempt audit risks
    • Tailored entitlement modeling beyond standard contractual terms
    • Enrolled and active in usage auditing

 

  • Specialist knowledge of the following software licensing models:
    • Red Hat
    • IBM
    • Oracle
    • Citrix
    • Cisco
    • Dassault
    • Autodesk
    • VMWare
    • Adobe

Client Engagement & Delivery Support

  • Serve as the “eyes and ears” of the delivery team throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate stakeholder demos and provide solution-focused support to improve process efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to ensure alignment between business goals and technical solutions.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 7+ years of experience in ServiceNow consulting, with hands-on expertise in multiple modules (ITSM, SAM Required).
  • 7+ years of experience in business analysis, including requirements gathering, process mapping, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to lead client workshops and translate business needs into actionable solutions.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience supporting Scrum teams.
  • Certifications: CSA, and CIS – SAM (Required)
  • Degree: Bachelor’s in computer science or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and documentation skills.
