We are currently seeking a Desktop Support Engineer to join our team in Sydney, New South Wales (AU-NSW), Australia (AU).

Position Summary/Overall Purpose Of The Job
This resource performs routine installation, monitoring and 1st/2nd level troubleshooting on data network, communication equipment, and voice related systems to maintain continuous availability to meet businesses requirements.
This resource will also be working closely with Network integration and 3rd level Network Operations Support teams.

 

Key Accountabilities
Principal Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site first and second level problem management for data and voice networks
  • Provide technical support / coordination / supervision for external business to business links
  • Support change management process in coordination with regional and global support teams
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities related to the operation, installation, and maintenance of the data and voice telecommunications infrastructure.
  • Ensure efficient delivery of telecommunications and data / voice services in accordance with committed customer service level agreements
  • Participate in 24x7 rotating support roster.

  • Comply with the ethical standards contained in the Customer Code of Conduct
  • Adhere to firm policies and procedures, regulatory and legislative requirements
  • Ensure the completion of all Compliance training and attestation


Key Competencies / Skills
Technical / Specialist skills / Competencies

(Job-related knowledge, policies, procedures, techniques etc.)

  • Hands-on experience in network deployment, configuration and testing.
  • Strong network analysis and troubleshooting skill, preferably in large-scale enterprise network.
  • Knowledge of Cisco, Juniper and Arista network hardware, software, technologies and routing protocols.
  • Knowledge of DNS, DHCP and related components.
  • Knowledge of Telecom voice technology such as SIP and Toll-Free numbers.
  • (Preferable) Experienced in VoIP and BGP/OSPF/IPsec VPN/NAT/Wireless AP deployment.

 

Business/Industry knowledge / competencies
(Understanding of business concepts, context, knowledge of the industry/market/organisation etc.)

  • Knowledge of industrial IS security trending
  • Well-developed project planning, coordination and scheduling skills.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  • Bachelor of Computer or Electronics Engineering or equivalent.
  • CCNA, CCNP or above

 

Description Of Minimum Work Experience Required For This Tole

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in a global financial organisation or outsourcing company.
  • Previous experience in Institutional Banking support would be an advantage.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS
(List any special conditions that apply to this position e.g. frequency and scope of travel, shift work, award etc.)

  • Candidate is required to participate in weekly After-hour Support roster
  • Depending on projects and business requirement, candidate should be prepared to work flexible hours. Infrastructure impact changes will be performed in Green Zones which is normally after-hours.
