We are currently seeking a Technology Operations & Applications Leader to join our team in Warren, New Jersey (US-NJ), United States (US).

 

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

 

A Technology Operations & Application Support Leader manages the operational stability, availability, and performance of production systems, leading teams that provide end-to-end application or infrastructure support. This role involves troubleshooting, resolving, and maintaining IT services, including incident and problem management, and ensuring seamless user experiences. 

A Technology Operations and Application Support Leader plays a crucial role in overseeing the smooth functioning of an organization's IT systems and applications. This includes ensuring stability, availability, and performance of production services, while also leading a team to provide effective technical support and guidance.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Lead Teams: Guide and mentor teams of technologists involved in delivering end-to-end application and infrastructure services, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Operational Oversight: Oversee daily operations of application & Infrastructure support, including managing incidents, problems, and changes, ensuring adherence to established service level agreements (SLAs).
  • Incident and Problem Management: Actively participate in incident resolution, from initial identification to service restoration. Facilitate root cause analysis to address underlying problems and prevent future occurrences.
  • Technical Support: Provide expertise in troubleshooting and resolving technical issues related to various IT systems and applications.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor production environments for anomalies, address issues, and utilize observability tools to track system health and performance.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including business users, development teams, and vendors, to coordinate requests, provide updates, and facilitate resolution of issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify areas for improvement in IT operations and application support processes, recommending and implementing best practices and automation to enhance efficiency.
  • Team Development: Provide training and guidance to team members to enhance their technical and leadership skills. 

Key skills

  • Technical Proficiency: Possess a strong understanding of IT infrastructure, networks, databases (e.g., SQL), operating systems (e.g., Unix), and cloud platforms (e.g., Azure/AWS Cloud Platform).
  • Leadership: Motivate and inspire teams, set clear goals, delegate tasks, provide constructive feedback, and resolve conflicts effectively.
  • Communication: Communicate technical information clearly and concisely to diverse audiences, both written and verbal, and listen attentively to understand stakeholder needs.
  • Problem-Solving: Demonstrate strong analytical and critical thinking skills to identify root causes of issues, evaluate solutions, and implement effective changes.
  • IT Service Management (ITSM): Have experience operating within an ITIL-based organization.
  • Project Management: Manage projects, including planning, executing, and monitoring progress to ensure successful delivery. 
  • In essence, a Technology Operations and Application Support Leader is a hybrid role, combining strong technical expertise with leadership and communication skills to ensure optimal performance and reliability of an organization's technology landscape. This role   driving force behind proactive issue resolution, continuous improvement, and the delivery of high-quality IT services to both internal and external stakeholders.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in IT, with a significant portion in application and Infrastructure support and a leadership role, are required. 
  • 10+Years of Insurance domain expertise – preferably P&C Commercial Insurance
