We are currently seeking a Senior Network Engineer to join our team in Washington, DC, USA.

Conducts technical tasks, network monitoring and control, technical support including troubleshooting and resolving maintenance issues for all systems in the network.  Configures and installs networking hardware/software replacements and upgrades minimize downtime, mentors network administrators and other reporting as required. Additionally, the individual will work with other team engineers to develop programmatic actions and minimize security risks.

Job Responsibilities

• Monitors and controls the performance and status of network resources across multiple enclaves utilizing software and hardware tools
• Develops and maintains all networking documentation (drawings, cut sheets, configurations, and deployment plans)
• Works with NDU Faculty and staff and other engineers and administrators in support of NDU ITD networking related projects
• Identifies and diagnoses problems and factors affecting network performance
• Provides day-to-day subject matter expert support for NDU enterprise
• Troubleshoots networking issues and outages, which may occur during non- core hours
• Works with vendors in support of the NDU networking issues as required
• Ensures all networking applicable STIGs and vulnerabilities are resolved or mitigated in a timely manner
• Performs preventative maintenance services on all devices within the networking area of responsibility
• Maintains a current understanding of emerging technologies and trends in data center as well as service provider
• Performs other tasks as required by OSC and the Government contracting office

Basic Qualifications:

• BA/BS or equivalent combination of education and work experience
• Minimum 7 years of experience in computer system or network engineering
• Minimum 3 years of experience installing and configuring CISCO Switches (i.e., Series 2900, 3700, 3800, 3900, 4500, 6500. Catalyst 9000 Series Preferred)
• Minimum 3 years of experience in installing and configuring CISCO routers (i.e., ASR 1000 and ISR 4000 series)
• Minimum 3 years of experience installing and configuration CISCO firewalls (i.e., ASA 5500 Series)
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a Network Engineer in a large government environment
• Must be DoD 8570 certified at the IAT-I / IAM-I level
  • Must have Security+ or higher
  • Must have an active CCNA and able to receive a CCNP
• Must be a US Citizen who has an active public trust clearance with the ability to obtain a secret clearance or currently holds an active Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree (preferably in Information Technology, Information Management, or Cyber Security)
• Prior experience with modern data center technologies, such as Cisco VPC, Cisco VDC, and VRF Lite
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Microsoft Visio and Word
• Secret personnel clearance preferred
