We are currently seeking a Financial Business Analyst to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

The government client manages the development and publication of the Department's Annual Financial Report (AFR) including audited Financial Statements and A-123 Assurance Statements. The Finance Statements Group (FSG) is responsible for the creation of the Department's Consolidated Financial Statements, the OBDs Financial Statements and the Department Financial Statement Preparation Guide. This includes oversight and management of the Department's accounting practices and external reporting of accounting data.


Job Description:

To assist in analyzing quarterly financial statements, create training materials for the OBDs, and perform tests over internal controls related to obligations, payments, reimbursement agreements, accruals, and payroll. Prepare reports detailing the results of testing and recommendations for improvements. Supporting the generation of PBC responses during the financial audit. The Consultants will provide operational support for a broad range of compliance activities designed to address the material weakness identified during the most recent financial audit. Provide training/instructional support to FS and the OBD financial community, as required. Provide program management oversight and reporting for key FS and Department stakeholders. The Consultants shall use financial management tools such as Excel and PowerBI to facilitate propriety and budgetary accounting analysis and obligation, payment and revenue based compliance analysis with data extracted from UFMS.


Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 6 years of financial experience, to include:
    • Minimum 6 years of Federal financial reporting (GTAS), reconciliations (FBWT, Payroll) and Financial Statement and note preparation
    • Minimum 6 years of Chief Financial Officer Act Audits OMB Circular A-123 audits
  • Ability to obtain Public Trust clearance
  • BS/BA in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, Business, Physical Science, or other technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Federal financial operations and system use
  • Data gathering and analysis
  • Analytical tools such as Excel, Power BI, etc.
  • Business process reviews and streamlining
  • At least 1 -2 years of federal financial management (preferable)
  • Current DOJ/JMD Public Trust clearance preferred


Work Location:

Washington, DC – the project currently requires employees to be on-site in DC for 1 full week each quarter. This schedule is subject to change at any time.
