We are currently seeking a Messaging Services Advisor to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

NTT DATA Federal Services, Inc. currently seeks a Mobile Broadband Engineer to join our Base Infrastructure Modernization (BIM) team to assist in transitioning existing Department of the Air Force Base Area Networks to an as-a-Service model while modernizing base networks.  Personnel will travel to bases in the Pacific region (Japan and/or Korea) to provide technical services for the base network infrastructure which will provide continued interoperability with joint network systems, increased access to critical data for high-bandwidth use cases, and support for connections to mission-unique applications, tools and systems. 

Job Description:

  • Designs mobile broadband/cellular-related services across BAN. Understands requirements, ensures standards are followed for spectrum use, antennae placement, power requirements, back-haul connectivity.
  • Ensures integrity and smooth operation of legacy and modernized communications networks, troubleshooting network problems and optimizing capacity.
  • Installs and configures broadband systems and networks.
  • Diagnoses and resolves technical issues related to broadband systems.
  • Monitors and analyzes system performance.
  • Performs regular maintenance on broadband systems to ensure longevity and optimal working condition.
  • Coordinates with Network Engineers to optimize network capacity and performance.
  • Tests new broadband technologies before they are rolled-out.
  • Documents installation, maintenance, and repair for future reference.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant regulations and standards during design, installation, and maintenance of mobile broadband systems.
  • Ensures compliance with safety procedures and standards.
  • Designs total systems’ solutions for smaller organizations or for segment of large organization, typically using third- party hardware and software.
  • Procures Messaging Server hardware and software.
  • Provides significant support in areas such as research and feasibility studies, tradeoff analyses, operating studies, design reviews and technical briefings.
  • Designs and implements load testing and disaster recovery scenarios.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Must possess a current CCNA or JNCIA Security+ certification/.
  • Technical BA/BS
    • Equivalency: High School diploma or Associate degree plus minimum 10 Years performing as a Broadband Engineer on large, complex networks
  • 7 years of experience with networks, as a Broadband Engineer on large, complex networks.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must possess a current Secret Security Clearance.
  • Ability to travel to Japan or Korea for site installations.

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodations. 
  • Microsoft Certified System Engineer, Certified Lotus Professional, Certified Linux Pro or Certified Novell Engineer preferred.
  • Expert knowledge of several Messaging technologies.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), MS Teams and SharePoint.
  • Proficient in broadband system technologies.
  • Strong understanding of network protocol and infrastructure.
