We are currently seeking a Sr. Systems Engineer to join our team in Washington, District of Columbia (US-DC), United States (US).

Job Summary: 

The Senior Systems Engineer will perform all administration and engineering tasks associated with designing, deploying, and supporting both on-premises and cloud infrastructure for the client's Help Desk. We are seeking an individual with extensive hands-on experience in cloud technologies, service-oriented platforms, and hybrid solutions. The engineer will be responsible for hardening, securing, and automating the deployment of both Windows and Linux operating systems while understanding networking and core Internet protocols. This role will involve providing Tier 3 support for a range of client-facing applications and infrastructure components, including Windows Server, SQL, SharePoint, virtualization software, AWS, and Azure. The engineer will also work directly with systems administrators and engineers to create network and system designs, manage backup and recovery strategies, and participate in disaster recovery planning.

Familiar with Federal policy requirements for Federal information systems, including Office of Management and Budget (OMB) Circulars, Department of Defense (DoD) Directives, National Institute of Standards and Technology Special Publications (NIST SP) and Federal Information Processing Standards ( FIPS), Federal Information Security Management Act (FISMA), the Federal certification and accreditation (C&A) process.Certifications with a cloud provider such as AWS or Azure is preferred.Familiar with Microsoft O365 tenant environmentsPerforms detail-oriented task in an independent environment.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Experience providing project briefs to senior executives.

Strong customer service skills, teaming skills, and the ability to collaborate within a cross-functional team. 

Ability to research and resolve problems efficiently and accurately with knowledge of the cloud computing industry, including key technologies, vendors, and trends.Strong system and network troubleshooting ability.

Basic Qualifications:

• Minimum 10 years of experience to include 5 years of experience in a Systems Engineering role.
• Bachelor’s degree, or higher, in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field. 
  • Education Equivalency: Additional four (4) years' experience if no degree
• Minimum 1 year of experience supporting projects with advanced IT technologies: Cloud Computing (Private, Public, and Hybrid), virtualization, software defined networking, software defined datacenters, Service-Oriented Architectures, datacenter architectures, or web services.
• Ability to obtain a Public Trust Clearance

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certifications with a cloud provider such as AWS or Azure is preferred.
