We are currently seeking a Senior IT Support Engineer with Japanese and English to join our team in Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa (JP-14), Japan (JP).
Field Tech Senior Analyst
Position Overview:
The VIP support technician is responsible for providing in-person and remote technical support for executives. This role provides white glove support and customer services, to ensure the executives are satisfied with their IT support. This role is responsible for the VIP user experience for the services NTT DATA delivers to them.
Job Family Grade Description
· Provide onsite in person technical support for VIP users, with high level of customer service.
· Individuals here have a well-rounded knowledge of the policies and procedures for their work area.
· Their work may require discretion and independent judgment for non-routine matters. However, the primary focus of work activity is predominately routine.
· They may make policy recommendations to their managers and be an escalation point for less experienced team members.
· Performs troubleshooting, parts replacement, systems upgrades, deployment, and repair on desktops / notebooks/ printers / tablets.
· May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader instructions.
· Identifies potential issues that could adversely impact end user experience and takes corrective action.
· Interact directly with clients and other internal and external sources to resolve issues.
· Performs advanced trouble-shooting techniques to address complex technical issues.
· Identifies risks and develops solutions for client tasks.
· Coordinates with on-site facilities and technical contacts regarding readiness and delivery issues.
· May distribute workload among team members.
· May prepare documentation to record and track issue resolutions.
· Often provides team leadership and mentoring.
· Uses advanced tools /technical knowledge to remediate client problems and conduct scheduled installations.
· Provides technical feedback on technical process issues to improve overall service delivery.
· May act as team lead at times and coach team members.
· Travel may be required. (As per NTTD’s travel policy)
· May respond to calls after normal business hours per leader’s instructions.
· This will be a full time Onsite role.
Skills
· Proficient in Windows-based operating environment, specifically in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
· Good knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems may be required.
· Strong knowledge of Windows operating system environment.
· Advanced client service skills.
· A+ desktop or equivalent skillset is required;
· MCP, MCSE, CNE or Network+ certification is preferred.
· The individual must have excellent Japanese communication skills (spoken, reading, and written). Proficiency in English (spoken, reading, and written) is preferred and will be considered an added advantage.
· A+ desktop or equivalent skill set is required; additional certifications for various hardware platforms may be required.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
· Ability to physically perform general office requirements. Such as the lifting / movement of assets from one location to another within the same premises or between two different premises. (The person must be physically able to do normal office tasks, including occasionally lifting or moving items that can weigh up to 50 pounds, with support equipment like trolleys, trays etc. )
· Must be able to perform essential responsibilities with or without reasonable accommodation.
· Significant travel including overnight domestic trips may be required.
Typical Years of Experience
· Typically requires 4-6 years’ relevant experience.
Minimum Education and Certifications
· Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
