We are currently seeking a Networking Analyst - Smart Hands Support to join our team in Yonkers, New York (US-NY), United States (US).
This role provides on-site technical support for network infrastructure, hardware installations, and data center operations through remote NOC. This role is hands-on, requiring physical tasks such as equipment installation, troubleshooting, maintenance, and site-to-site travel throughout New York City and Westchester. Technicians serve as the on-site extension of the remote NOC and engineering teams, ensuring smooth operations, rapid response to issues, and accurate documentation.
**This role requires working onsite daily at our client's facility and requires an annual flu shot.
We support this client 24/7, so this role could include evenings or weekends.
Responsibilities:
- Provide Smart Hands support for network/server hardware (rack/stack, cabling, hardware swaps).
- Troubleshoot and resolve physical connectivity issues, including cable tracing, module/port replacements, and resets.
- Perform routine equipment maintenance, hardware upgrades, and emergency repairs.
- Power cycling, console access setup, and module disk/power replacements as directed by remote teams.
- Document work performed, maintain service logs, and update appropriate systems.
- Respond to ticketing system, update tickets to track information and maintain SLAs.
- Support inventory management, shipping/receiving, and site readiness tasks.
- Respond to emergency situations and participate in rotating on-call schedules.
- Follow safety protocols and adhere to operational procedures and change management policies.
Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ years of IT experience
- Ability to lift 50 lbs
- Personal vehicle for travel between sites
Additional Preferences:
- High school diploma or trade school training or relevant experience
- Strong understanding of networking (OSI Layers 2 & 3), cabling, and data center operations
- Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls, UPS systems, and electrical/cooling infrastructure
- Experience with Visio, testing tools, and interpreting floor plans
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Able to lift 50 lbs., climb ladders, and perform physically demanding tasks
- Reliable transportation and a clean, insurable driving record
- Fully vaccinated for flu (as required for hospital access)
- Basic console access and configuration knowledge
- Familiarity with structured cabling (copper/fiber) and environmental monitoring tools
- Experience with Service Now or similar ticketing/change management systems
- Strong time management, detail-oriented, and able to work independently
- Availability for shift work, weekends, holidays, and emergency callouts
Preferred Certifications & Skills:
- CompTIA A+, Network+, or Cisco certifications (CCNA, etc.)
Where required by law, NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for specific roles. The starting pay range for this role is $60,000 – $72,000. Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
