Senior Business Analyst - Mortgages/Lending

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze existing mortgage processes, products, and customer journeys to identify improvement opportunities.
• Conduct business, process, and cost analysis to support strategic and operational decision-making.
• Investigate business problems, perform root cause analysis, and recommend practical solutions.
• Facilitate and lead workshops with business stakeholders to gather requirements and validate proposed solutions.
• Elicit, document, and manage business requirements, user stories, process flows, and functional specifications.
• Create current-state and future-state process maps using industry-standard methodologies.
• Collaborate with business, operations, compliance, and technology teams to design and implement new mortgage journeys and process enhancements.
• Prepare high-quality presentations, business cases, and executive-level documentation.
• Support impact assessments, gap analysis, solution design discussions, UAT planning, and change management activities.
• Act as a bridge between business and technology teams to ensure successful delivery of requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

Domain Expertise

• Strong experience in Mortgage and Lending domain.
• Good understanding of mortgage lifecycle, including:
  • Loan Origination
  • Underwriting
  • Credit Assessment
  • Loan Processing
  • Mortgage Servicing
  • Regulatory and Compliance considerations

Business Analysis Skills

• Business Requirements Gathering
• Process Analysis and Optimization

• Workshop Facilitation

• Process Mapping and Journey Mapping

Documentation & Presentation

• Excellent documentation skills.
• Strong PowerPoint and business presentation skills.
• Ability to prepare professional reports, business proposals, and executive summaries.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio).

Communication & Stakeholder Management

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience working with senior business stakeholders.
• Ability to influence decision-making through analytical insights and structured recommendations.

Preferred Skills

• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence.
• Exposure to digital mortgage transformation initiatives.
• Experience working with distributed/onshore-offshore teams.
