We are currently seeking a Data Center Operations Associate to join our team in Garland, Texas (US-TX), United States (US).
Position's Overview
The Data Center Operations Associate is responsible for executing daily mission-critical service operations, infrastructure support.. Acting as a technical anchor for the shift team, this role coordinates advanced hardware lifecycles—from deployment and cable patching to structured decommissions—while safeguarding performance thresholds, strict audit tracking, and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).

Managing a mission-critical data center involves solving complex, interconnected problems across power distribution, hardware lifecycle tracking, infrastructure boundaries, and multi-tenant billing.
Position's General Duties and Tasks
Key Responsibilities
1. Infrastructure Deployment & Hardware Lifecycle Management

Deploy and Integrate: Perform advanced "rack and stack" operations, cabinet builds, and server installations following designated layout and power specifications.

Structured Patching: Execute precision copper and fiber cross-connect work, following complex portmaps derived from ticketing system requirements.

Equipment Decommissioning: Coordinate hardware removals by unracking devices, removing associated cables and power, and safely transporting assets between building vaults (e.g., from Vault 5 to Gainwell Vault 8) for secure storage.

Inventory & Asset Control: Log, track, and update all physical equipment movements and status changes inside to ensure accurate audit logs.
2. Incident Management & Technical Support

Smart Hands Assistance: Deliver high-tier "Smart Hands" and "Remote Hands" physical support for external vendors, client engineers, and internal technical teams.

Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve physical layer issues, network connectivity disruptions, and hardware components failures (such as SFPs, interface cards, RAM modules, or SAN components).

Quality Assurance: Conduct rigorous QA verifications on completed maintenance and decommission tickets.

Logistics & Vendor Coordination: Supervise data center inbound/outbound shipments, verifying tracking IDs (e.g., FedEx/UPS) and coordinating with guard staff to ensure zero inventory slippage.
Basic Qualifications:
- 1+ years of customer service experience
- Education: Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline (or equivalent practical experience).
Preferences:

CDCDP (Certified Data Center Design Professional) or CDCOP (Certified Data Center Operations Professional).

CCNA / Network+ to independently troubleshoot complex network connectivity and physical layer issues.

ITIL v4 Foundation or higher, demonstrating a deep understanding of corporate Change Management workflows.

Nettworking & Hardware: Demonstrated proficiency working with physical servers, network switches, enterprise routers, and structure cabling standards (fiber and copper).
Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable writing professional updates for leadership, updating documentation, and interacting directly with global accounts.Tooling: Proficient with professional assembly hand tools, safety gear, and data center ticketing platforms. Ability to operate or obtain certification for material handling equipment (such as server lifts or forklifts) is highly preferred.

NTT DATA provides a reasonable range of compensation for U.S.-based positions. The starting pay range for this role is $20/hr-23.85/hr Actual compensation will depend on a number of factors, including the candidate’s relevant experience, technical skills, and other qualifications.
This position may also be eligible for incentive compensation based on individual and/or company performance. If the position offered in temporary, the position will not be eligible for incentive compensation.
