We are currently seeking a Business Consulting - Playwright Automation Engineer to join our team in Noida, Uttar Pradesh (IN-UP), India (IN).

Job Description – Playwright Automation Engineer (UI & API Automation)

Role: Playwright Automation Engineer / Senior QA Automation Engineer/SDET
Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Playwright Automation Engineer with strong hands-on expertise in UI and API automation. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, automation framework design and development, CI/CD integration using Jenkins, and prior experience with Selenium and Java.
The candidate should be capable of working as an individual contributor, independently owning automation deliverables while collaborating effectively within an Agile/Scrum team.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript.
- Develop and execute automated tests for both Web UI and API testing.
- Build reusable, scalable, and maintainable automation components and utilities.
- Participate in the design and enhancement of test automation frameworks.
- Integrate automated test suites with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines and enable continuous test execution.
- Analyze automation failures, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis.
- Work closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and QA team members to understand functional and technical requirements.
- Contribute to test strategy, test planning, automation coverage, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Participate actively in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, refinement sessions, retrospectives, and sprint reviews.
- Review code and automation scripts to ensure adherence to coding and automation best practices.
- Mentor or provide technical guidance to junior automation engineers when required.
- Independently manage assigned automation activities and deliver within agreed timelines.
Mandatory Skills
- 6–9 years of overall experience in QA/Test Automation.
- Strong, real-world hands-on experience with Playwright for UI automation.
- Strong hands-on programming experience with JavaScript and TypeScript.
- Experience in API automation/testing using Playwright or comparable API testing approaches.
- Strong experience in automation framework development and framework design.
- Experience implementing reusable automation architecture such as Page Object Model (POM) or similar design patterns.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD and Jenkins pipelines.
- Prior hands-on experience with Selenium WebDriver and Java.
- Strong understanding of web applications, browser behavior, selectors, waits, assertions, and synchronization techniques.
- Experience with source control tools such as Git.
- Good understanding of software testing methodologies, SDLC, and STLC.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
- Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently as an Individual Contributor.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Should be a quick learner and comfortable adapting to new technologies and project requirements.
Preferred / Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with API testing tools such as Postman, REST Assured, or similar tools.
- Knowledge of reporting frameworks such as Allure, HTML reports, or equivalent.
- Experience with parallel test execution, cross-browser testing, and test data management.
- Exposure to cloud-based testing platforms.
- Experience with Docker or containerized test execution.
- Understanding of BDD/TDD practices.
- Experience working with large-scale enterprise automation frameworks.
Candidate Profile
The successful candidate will be a technically strong automation professional who can take ownership of automation activities from framework design through implementation and CI/CD execution. The person should have substantial hands-on coding experience rather than only automation management or coordination experience, and should be comfortable contributing independently in a fast-paced Agile delivery environment.
