We are currently seeking a COBOL Consultant to join our team in pune, Mahārāshtra (IN-MH), India (IN).

develops, maintains, and enhances COBOL-based applications, primarily within mainframe environments. They analyze business requirements, translate them into technical specifications, and design solutions using COBOL and related technologies like JCL, DB2, and CICS. Consultants also debug, troubleshoot, and optimize existing applications, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards. 

Key Responsibilities:

• Application Development and Maintenance:

  Developing, maintaining, and enhancing COBOL-based applications on mainframe systems. 

• Requirements Analysis:

  Analyzing business requirements and translating them into technical specifications for COBOL applications. 

• Technical Design and Implementation:

  Designing and implementing COBOL programs, ensuring they meet performance and quality standards. 

• Troubleshooting and Debugging:

  Debugging, troubleshooting, and optimizing existing COBOL applications. 

• Documentation:

  Creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for COBOL applications, database configurations, and CL programs. 

• Performance Tuning:

  Monitoring and improving the performance of COBOL applications and databases. 

• Collaboration:

  Collaborating with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to support system integrations and gather requirements. 

• Knowledge Sharing:

  Sharing technical knowledge and skills with team members to build capabilities and guide new team members. 

• Process Improvement:

  Identifying and implementing process improvements and automation to enhance efficiency.
