Job Description
As a Senior CAD/CAE/Simulation Developer, you will lead the design, analysis, and optimization of engineering systems and components using advanced computer-aided technologies. You will be responsible for developing high-fidelity models, conducting simulations (FEA, CFD, etc.), and integrating design feedback into product development cycles. This role demands strong technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure product performance, manufacturability, and compliance with industry standards.
Key Roles & Responsibilities
CAD Responsibilities
- Develop and optimize detailed 2D/3D CAD models using tools like AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA, or Siemens NX.
- Create technical drawings and schematics for manufacturing and product development.
- Conduct design reviews and ensure compliance with GD&T and industry standards.
- Collaborate with design, manufacturing, and testing teams to ensure feasibility and accuracy.
- Maintain version control and documentation of design iterations.
CAE/Simulation Responsibilities
- Perform Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) using tools like ANSYS, Abaqus, OpenFOAM, or Simulink.
- Develop simulation models to evaluate structural integrity, thermal performance, and fluid dynamics.
- Validate and verify simulation results against physical testing data.
- Optimize designs for performance, cost, and manufacturability using simulation insights.
- Troubleshoot and resolve simulation-related issues and provide actionable recommendations.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Mentor junior engineers and guide them in CAD/CAE best practices.
- Lead cross-functional meetings to align simulation outputs with design goals.
- Communicate technical findings to stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
- Contribute to project planning, risk assessment, and design validation strategies.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related Engineering field.
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in CAD/CAE/Simulation roles.
- Proficiency in CAD tools (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, CATIA) and CAE tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, MATLAB).
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Experience with PLM systems and version control tools.
Preferred Skills
- Programming knowledge (Python, MATLAB, C++) for automation and customization.
- Experience with scripting in simulation environments.
- Exposure to digital twin technologies and model-based systems engineering (MBSE).
- Familiarity with industry standards (ASME, ISO, etc.).
